I think I a word squirrel or two there. I wonder what I meant to write.
Perhaps you started to write something like
"I've learned the different ways that people think who see the world differently"
then (perhaps mid-sentence) decided to revise it to
"I've learned how people who see the world differently [...] think"
but missed "the" in your revision.

Yeah, something like that, probably.

Differences in terminology between Europe and US, I suppose.
- In Europe 'liberal' economically means pro free market, pro private property, pro small government, etc.
So libertarians would be turbo liberal in Europe. - 'Conservative' economically means nothing, the other side of spectrum is 'socialist' or just 'left'.
- 'Liberal' socially is basically the same as 'left'.
- Opposite side from socially liberal is 'Conservative', as it should be.
Saying just "liberal party" may be confusing. Liberal economically or socially or both? But people use that term all the time anyway.
Those guys would be Conservative Liberals, as they call themselves AFAIK.
Monarchist or anti women right to vote are nowhere on the spectrum, those views are just strange. I'm guessing support for those things is somewhere around 0%, and fringe parties like WiP use them just to get media coverage.
[edit]
Oh, one more thing. I don't know how it is in other EU countries, but in Poland right-wing and left-wing do not mean anything in particular, other than "they hate those guys calling themselves left the most, so they are right obviously".
You can be a bloody red communist and call yourself right-wing - both media and the public will believe you.
- In Europe 'liberal' economically means pro free market, pro private property, pro small government, etc.

No, a proper European liberal party is both liberal economically and socially.

No such thing in Poland then. Closest would be PO I guess - they are kind of free market and kind of liberal socially. So they are center.
-
@dkf that's my point. There is no real "libertarian" party in Europe AFAIK. The closest thing to such a thing in my knowledge is what used to be the Radical Party here in Italy, who focus primarily on social issues but are technically economically liberal, but it's the kind of party that doesn't care too much about economics. As of today the remnants of that party are in +Europa ("More Europe"). The name implies their agenda.

That's ok. There isn't a real "libertarian" party in the US, either.
-
@Benjamin-Hall AFAICT the Libertarian Party in the US uses those as a Trojan horse. Make up the numbers by appealing to a target demographic of "young dissolute voters" who may be also either privileged enough or disenfranchised enough not to care about economic policies, and then, if one day you manage to get significant numbers in Parliament, also push for libertarian economic policies.
-
@admiral_p Yeah, no. Sadly. The Libertarian (big L) party doesn't care at all about actually doing politics. They ignore the local races and the party-building stuff in favor of quixotic "awareness raising" campaigns for president. Even they admit that they have ~0% chance. And are positively allergic to actually promoting liberty-enhancing economic policies.

So they’re actually the weed-libertarian but not the Somalia-libertarian (see above) kind? I assumed the opposite.
Not that I care much for Ayn Rand politics.

Your point was about economics - going as far as postulating private healthcare.

The Vatican part is especially interesting in the context of Matthew 22:21.

Not in this form, to my knowledge, but there may be similar sentiments expressed in Atlas Shrugged, from which the game was adapted (and the game itself is a critique of). Feel free to look deeper, but only if you so desire. After all, a man chooses; a slave obeys.

@Groaner this is ambiguous. You can be saying its not original on this form, or that they didn't take it on this form.

As good a translation as anything. Blade Runner is an idiom, really. You can't translate this properly. In Polish it was done as "The Android hunter".
-
@kt_ we just kept the original title and added something after a colon, like: Blade Runner: The Android Hunter
-
@sockpuppet7 in Poland, "Terminator" was originally released as "Electronic Murderer". Partly because translating titles was a thing back then, partly because the word "terminator" in Polish means an apprentice (it has since become obsolete; the joke is now the other way around - "middle ages were so cool! Every craftsman had their own terminator!")
