bet it all on black. 50% odds are good enough, right?
47.37% for an American roulette wheel; 48.65% for a European roulette wheel. Both red and black lose on 0 and 00.
-
@izzion The odds of 43.7 / 100 odds differing from 50:50 is less than 50:50, tho, a fair bit less. So, odds are it's 50:50 odds.

I doubt they have European roulette wheels in Vegas.
Introducing a 00 field sure was an American stroke of genius, though.

True. I was focused on finding the odds and forgot the scenario was set in Vegas, thus European was irrelevant, until after I'd submitted the post.

Pfff. The real money is in launching an IoT-based, tying-shoelaces-as-a-service company.

I faintly considered looking up/computing the exact odds including the 0 and/or 00, but . Thank you, TDWTF Forums, for coming to my desperately-needed aid.

@PotatoEngineer Toby faire, the house wants you to think it's a 50:50 bet. That's how it pays out, but your odds of winning are just a hair less than 50:50, which is how the house makes its profit.

Wait, the existence of casinos isn't de-facto? Thank you, it is entirely impossible that everyone knew this and was readily capable of reaching this conclusion.

That, together with the fact that the house isn't betting on the wheel in the first place.

The existence of casinos also implies the existence of suckers, in vast quantities.

@boomzilla hold on, who thinks there's actually money in there? Now, taxing electric in a cryptocoin that is worth exactly the electricity it takes to make, would be fun.

One of the many things that the crypto crowd never acknowledge is that the US government is becoming one of the biggest holders of crypto currency. Why create/mine your own when you can seize everyone elses. They practically have the power to tank them if they hold onto it.

Soccer superstar Messi is being partly paid in crypto by PSG
A coworker once told me of one of his friend who was a trader, and was asked when he signed his contract in which currency he wanted to be paid. He allegedly chose some arcane South American currency, because that allowed him to do shenanigans with it, and get more out of it.
I'm assuming that the main reason Messi's salary is paid this way is for tax purposes (maybe it doesn't count as a "salary" or other weird reason).

I asked my boss if I could be paid in Krugerrand. No, apparently.
