@scholrlea he listed hadoop twice.
-
@scholrlea Wow that guy is punchable. So punchable.

Again, this isn't a meme (or even an image macro), yet, but it could easily be turned into one. Mind you, that applies to most of these, really, if they get enough currency among people.

I suspect this one might end up an actual meme. Unfortunately, I suspect that for most people, the butt of the joke will be the literal-genie guy writing this answer, rather than the absurdity of the question.
(Actually, they both seem pretty absurd to me.)
-
@scholrlea
I'm a little afraid to try to search for whether "shiny" is a language, or just on his list as a Pokemon term.

Not quite a meme, but it could certainly be turned into one.
Less were pokemon than I thought.

@karla I wouldn't at all be surprised if several were both Pokemon and software tools/frameworks. I would even expect it. Perhaps some would even have the same name by convergent evolution, too, rather than someone deciding that naming their creation after their favorite cartoon animal would be amusing.
Filed Under: I'd be shocked if there wasn't at least one programming tool, library or framework named after a Pokemon, really.

To be fair, I have been asked by family members whether they should by a Mac or PC. Or if they should bite the bullet and finally upgrade their Windows 7 or 8 machine to Windows 10.
But I have seen similar questions on more inane products like a hammer or a pack of screws that provoke similar reactions.

@karla They forgot ColdFusion:
Jynx- Ice/Psychic type - who is kind of funny looking.
-
@karla I think that everyone who hasn't already forgotten ColdFusion is like you - they wish they could.

I still like it, I just know better than to sacrifice my livelihood.
-
@karla Lucky you. If you do move to something else, though, make sure it isn't Shitfart Nadir. That makes ColdFusion look like a shining jewel in comparison.

We only use CF in legacy stuff. New stuff is .NET and unfortunately Dynamics CRM (but we are rewriting the UI with Angular).

At least we know why you still like ColdFusion

Yeah.
I like C# and .NET but there are still things that I just understand how it work better in ColdFusion. I like the way it handles data sources.

Apex: A cardboard cutout of a Pikachu in the window of a storefront Dianetics Center in the financial district. It is obviously, laughably fake, yet there are large number of Poke Balls on the sidewalk in front of it.

SQL - Rhydon - Powerful rock/ground type useful in all areas.

@karla
Puhleeze. SQL - Kyogre - The most majestic of all languages. But criminally misunderstood and misused by those that seek it.
-
@izzion You know, trolling is a lot more effective when it is plausible that someone might believe what is being claimed...
Filed Under: SQL is the Fillet of Codd.

I don't know that one. I currently only know Gen 1 and Gen 2.

I got 70%. I thought a lot of big data names were pokemon.

Injury from a traffic accident

Surprised that this one hasn't been posted yet. I know it's been posted in other threads here.

@ben_lubar I too got 100% correct. Mainly from identifying pokémon names, as I've been playing a lot of that this past year.
