Wasn't even an attempt at humor. Now it's in there: https://what.thedailywtf.com/post/1662730

The smaller the dog the bigger the ego. Sometimes it even seems to be an inverse exponential relation.

I've spent way too much time trying to find a good visualization of exa-exabyte.
-https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=((volume+of+Earth)%2F13.6ml)*(bluray+capacity)A single Blu-ray disc can hold as much data as five DVD discs. Imagine the entire Earth, from the surface down to the core, was made entirely out of Blu-ray discs.
That's two exa-exabytes. DNA contains five Blu-ray Earths worth of data.

DVD discs.
the missing 300MB is due to redundancy
TIL that the redundancy of writing "DVD discs" reduces their capacity by 300 Mb
-
@remi from 5GB to 4.7GB

Blu-ray is exactly 25GB.
-
@Gąska And does an ATM machine contain less money than an ATM?
-
@remi goddamn it was just a stupid joke. Because DVD is actually less than 5GB but saying "DVD disc" is redundant and data redundancy is what makes various media have less usable memory than its actual physical capacity. So people would stop being about "as much as five DVD" and also not talk about ATMs. Seems like I failed at both. You goddamn frog baguette.
-
@Gąska I think I was just making the same joke as you, thinking that you did not write in on purpose, and that we both 'ed afterwards: me on the fact that you made that joke first (and it wasn't just a typo), and you on the fact that I was actually making the same joke as you.
There, have we ed enough to thoroughly kill any shred of fun?
-
@remi also, I probably misread your emoji mumble as "did I whoosh?" while you meant "did you whoosh?". Pictograms aren't a good method of communication.

Emphasis mine. I'm having a hard time making sense of this. (It's grammatically valid, but it seems doubtful.)
