As discussed above, because they don't like C++ (over dead bodies, etc). So C it is.
except they use nulptr..... which is C++

Yeah, but they use it with great disdain, while scoffing loudly.

dude, you just need a better adblocker is all.
also this fight is probably going to go on for a while, and just get all the more annoying for me while it dows.
As long as ads exist that surreptitiously serve malware, and major ad networks serve them up to major sites, and both the ad networks and the sites (including the ones that complain about ad-blockers!) fail to screen them out, an ad-blocker isn't a tool of convenience; it's a basic security necessity. The sooner these sites either recognize this or go out of business because they failed to recognize this, the better.

oh, don't get me wrong, i'm using an adblocker for exactly that reason. I just wish i didn't have to.

No it doesn't.

Damn.

@Rhywden said in samsung insisting on tizen:
@kt_ No. They gave me my money back which I promptly invested in a Pixel.
I mean, the design may be questionable but the phone is solid. And the photos it takes are indeed great.
I did the same, and moved from AT&T to Project Fi in the process. Just arrived yesterday.

But what about pendants? Some of those look rather nice…

@dkf Gotcha. You are more of a Cleveland Steamer sort of guy.

Cache.
They say that's a hard problem to solve. So much so that if you can keep a caching system running for 3 months of continuous uptime, it's considered a big deal, sort of the holy grail of caching: 90 days same as cache.

C# and .NET Core for Tizen
So, it appears to not be EFL bindings to C#, at least from what I am reading in this article. With this change, I wonder how many developers / companies will eventually move from EFL to using this new method for developing Tizen applications.
-
@samis The code samples and the API nowhere made mention of an EVAS_Object, so I guess if you're using Xamarin you'll be spared that particular atrocity. Even the platform specific API calls look like bog-standard C#.
-
@Rhywden I don't use or develop for Tizen anyway, but I found this linked elsewhere and thought it'd be relevant to this thread
-
@Rhywden said in samsung insisting on tizen:
Doesn't that involve using EFL?
Thanks, but no thanks. The Note disaster put me off Samsung for good.
edit: Yes. Yes, it does:
This is the code snippet for a button which canges colour on pressing it. Good lord.
Oh this brings so many memories... If you remember the part about a forsaken layout language from https://what.thedailywtf.com/topic/15001/enlightened - you now know the abhorrence of it.
swallow { "tizen_vg_shape"; scale; clip_to: "rect.bg"; }
Yeah, baby!

@NeighborhoodButcher I expect the c# ported code to be full of:
throw new SpankSpankException();
