@HardwareGeek Without even watching the video, the answer is 'burned up on re-entry'.
The whole final part of the episode is that Spock dumps and burns the fuel in an attempt to be noticed - the fuel burns up in the atmosphere, the Enterprise notices it (having been ordered to leave, albeit under protest) and returns in time to beam everyone out before the shuttle crashes on re-entry.
Edit: OH. It's about the prop! Yes, surprisingly many of the props were left for dead from TOS because storage was expensive. There's similar urban legends about Star Wars props too, e.g. the prop Death Star being used as a bin lid.

A low-budget but very well-done indie sci-fi short that showed up in YT suggestions. My only complaint is that the dramatic music at the climax makes it difficult to hear what the actor is saying.
-
@HardwareGeek Oh no. And that has now led me into a number of other scifi shorts... So much for work today...

100+ year old machine produces beautiful art (typically, clock and watch faces and dials, musical instruments, etc.):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoNK8wVz63Q
The "part 1" video just shows the machine without any explanation. In this video he explains a bit about how it works.
I'm not sure when this machine was made. Some time after 1857 (when the company was established) and probably before about 1920 (doing some research on the machine, I found a web page from a flute maker who uses a similar — but not identical, I think — machine made in 1920 by the same manufacturer; I'm not sure why, but this one looks older to me).
I don't think the video thumbnail is the best illustration of what it does, so here are a couple of other screenshots:

@Zecc Pretty amazing.
Though it's definitely lacking in forts, which played a huge role in the battle (the French army held out in a ring of forts around the city, not just trenches).
Also I'd dispute the "culturally significant" bit. I think "politically" would be more appropriate here.
Verdun wasn't a hugely symbolic city by itself (before the war), it's more that it became the symbol of stopping the Germans. Also also, while the video does show it, I think the constant train of trucks probably needs to be explained, I'm not sure how well known the story of the Voie Sacrée is outside of France?

15 minutes in, and I was exhausted just watching this!
The Inka Avalanche is a Mass Start Downhill Race. 300 mountain bikers racing all together to finish 15 kilometers below, in the famous sacred Valley - Peru.
After I won the first final race run, I decided to start from the really rear for the second race run, behind all the other riders. My challenge was to catch everybody !

I remember seeing a video of a horseback archer some time ago (maybe here?) and it was also amazing to see how he managed to smooth out all the horse's movements so that everything from shoulders upwards stayed perfectly stable.
Also the pile up at the first real turn is almost cartoonish
Also also, 40 minutes! His stamina is amazing, I would be dead after not even 5... Well, I would be literally dead after less than that if I tried to go his speed, but I would also be internet "literally" dead even if I went at a safe speed for me.

I LOLed at that too. And you could tell the rider knew that was coming because of how hard he worked to get to the right beforehand.

Way back when... I rode in the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival. It's a 40mi mountain bike race over cross country ski trails (in the summer) in northern Wisconsin. I was proud that I finished in the top half! (Probably at least an hour behind the winner)

I looked up the race name (because the announcer at the start spoke French and thus I wondered if it was a resort I knew -- it is, though not one that I've actually been to, so I didn't recognise anything) and it's apparently a recurring event. So I guess if you're a pro like he is, you would probably know what happens in that corner. I suspect that those who crashed are over-eager enthusiastic amateurs that just went as fast as possible from the start for the thrill of it, as opposed to the pros who just went extremely fast but in a controlled manner.
top half! (Probably at least an hour behind the winner)
That's something I noticed in the first run of the first video (when he starts at the back): it takes him 3-4 minutes to work through almost everyone, and then 10 more minutes to catch the 10 or so top-runners (the whole race being about 20 min on that one). So I can easily believe that there would be a huge gap between the winner (and top racers) and the median.
(congrats though, that sounds like you did quite well!)

I think I posted that, but I don't remember which thread. Maybe this one, but . If your isn't as strong as mine, you might try searching for "Mongolian archer" on YT. (Probably won't find it here, because just bare URL in the post.)

For those unfamiliar with the concept of a level, Mario has been around for sooooo long that the basic platforming style is intuitively familiar to pretty much everyone these days. Troll levels turn that familiarity on its head and abuse game mechanics to do unintuitive things to the player as pranks, and if you go into it with that mindset, they're extremely entertaining!
This one was an actual level, so I figured I'd share it here...

From the video @LaoC just posted, YouTube recommended yet another example of Australia trying to kill us all:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prEwJDsfWMo
From the video's description:
It's tiny, almost invisible and one of the most dangerous creatures on earth. Just wait until you see the havoc it causes. And this little monster is one of ours. It's a jellyfish called 'Irukandji' that spends the summer months in the warm tropical waters up north. Now, if that word Irukandji means nothing to you, you're not alone. Not only is this the most venomous Aussie of them all, it's one of those great scientific mysteries. It's also one of our best kept secrets. Hardly a tourist attraction, and certainly not the kind the tourist industry wants to see on national television.
There are only two confirmed deaths from it, but pretty much everyone who knows about it believes there have been many more. The sting leaves no mark on the skin, and the symptoms can mimic heart attack and/or stroke, and unsurprisingly, it's assumed that many victims simply drown.
Even better:
The pain is so bad that even near-overdose levels of opioid painkillers won't touch it.

Haha, yeah I saw this a couple of years back and I remember this sentence from the woman, "the baseline is about as painful as at the peak of a contraction when I was giving birth, and it only gets worse from there". And I think that was when she was doped to the gills already

@HardwareGeek I'm thinking perhaps we need a

150kV, according to Google. I actually thought it was 380kV. Regardless, it did not agree with the 3kV on the railway overhead wire it landed on.

It's a bit dumb that they put so much spin on the knife, but it is cool:
Point it in the direction of a target and it will calculate the distance and parabolic trajectory, at which point the laser on the front will tilt to point out where your knife is going to land. Pretty clever.
