All that said, I think the dude does have a point about the gun terminology thing. It's easy to misuse the terminology, even if one is an expert, simply because everyone surrounding us misuses it as well. So, you're typing and thinking fast, make a silly but common mistake, and the whole thing gets sidetracked by pendants.
