Most of the original bans ran out after a year or two I think
Mine runs out in 2043
@boomzilla said in How can this be so wrong??? (AKA the Discopocalypse thread):
Then some of us went back and got anonymized
Oh right I forgot that was a thing
-
@loopback0 yeah. I had 49 of those badges, but they seem to filter them out of the badge page:
-
@boomzilla we'd all probably have a few more if the bugs didn't get routinely deleted from the tracker

@boomzilla said in How can this be so wrong??? (AKA the Discopocalypse thread):
I think a few people slipped through without ever getting any actual bans.
Some of us never got banned because we never created accounts over there in the first place.
-
@HardwareGeek I still get enjoyment from thinking about participating over there. You really had to interact with their team (or read threads like this where those of us who did interact reported back) to understand how truly fucked up Dicksource was.
-
@boomzilla Vicarious interaction (and such interaction as occurred directly on TDWTF, of course) was quite enough for me.

This seems an attitude proper to a software engineer.

I made an account just to complain about
fa-spin
because that was a very annoying bug. It never got banned because I didn't go round dumping shit on people, and that was because

Thanks for spreading the word about our discussions, and this community
Heh. No probs.

@lolwhat they were made for each other.

The new platform offers way more features than Mailman, including gamification which newer generations, in general, appreciate
Yay, internetpointzzzz!
proper spam support
Great, I was really longing for more spam.
Since we introduced Discourse, GNOME's Mailman instance has seen a decline in utilization over the past years
Tangential note: I'd really appreciate if GNOME and anything that spawns from it could just die, so that the asshole distros pushing it (e.g. RH) would stop killing far superior systems.

Lmao Louis Rossmann doesn't like Discourse.

Technically the complaints are applicable to too but I felt it funny enough to mention.

As @blakeyrat put it:
We could have used a boatload of these when this clown was destroying DailyWTF

He must have failed to notice that the bottom right of the card says "I love you!".

"Please shut the fuck up" is very good advice to follow.
However, you will still need to speak occasionally. When you do speak, if you're an asshole, what good is it?

Fortunately, I can already envision several ways to produce said card with a flourish wherein the offending statement is handily covered with a finger.

There are people for whom being told to STFU would be heart wrenching (for good and bad) so having a reminder that they are still cared about in some fashion could at least soften the blow?

I can well imagine which finger you'd use.
-
@HardwareGeek That really depends on how swanky you want to be.
-
@GOG I'm sure Blakey would have gotten it right given the number of times he would have wanted to use it.
