Although not common on the Discworld there are, indeed, such things as anti-crimes, in accordance with the fundamental law that everything in the multiverse has an opposite. They are, obviously, rare. Merely, giving someone something is not the opposite of robbery; to be an anti-crime, it has to be done in such a way as to cause outrage and/or humiliation to the victim. So there is breaking-and-decorating, proffering-with-embarrassment (as in most retirement presentations) and whitemailing (as in threatening to reveal to his enemies a mobsterâs secret donations, for example, to charity). Anti-crimes have never really caught on

China should also make clear that if North Korea launches missiles that threaten US soil first and the US retaliates, China will stay neutral. If the US and South Korea carry out strikes and try to overthrow the North Korean regime and change the political pattern of the Korean Peninsula, China will prevent them from doing so.
China opposes both nuclear proliferation and war in the Korean Peninsula. It will not encourage any side to stir up military conflict, and will firmly resist any side which wants to change the status quo of the areas where China's interests are concerned. It is hoped that both Washington and Pyongyang can exercise restraint. The Korean Peninsula is where the strategic interests of all sides converge, and no side should try to be the absolute dominator of the region.
It's an editorial... but still, it's pretty good news.

Durango, Colorado
This town has a lot of retirees, and it's almost as left-leaning as Boulder, CO, which is as socialist as Philadelphia.
Ron Cornelius and his wife found the SUV, but didnât see the bear; they called 911 because they werenât sure if people were in the SUV and were injured.
Sure, call emergency services to come check because you can't be bothered to just look yourself. Emergency calls are free, right?
Cornelius quipped, âUsually, I donât get up at 5 oâclock unless there is a bear driving a car down the street.â
Ha! Fuck 5am. I wouldn't even get up at that hour for a bear driving a car down my street.
See above Re: retirees.
According to local officials, two or three bears get stuck in cars each week.
The fuck? Two to three bears a week get stuck in cars? How have I not heard of this before?
See above Re: lefties. They've been having bear problems ever since they got rid of bear hunting in La Plata county.

BPI sued ABC for more than $1 billion over 2012 news reports on the company's use of lean, finely textured beef product. The on-air reports led by ABC correspondent Jim Avila noted that some critics had referred to the product as "pink slime," and that BPI did not label the ingredient when it was included in its beef.
ABC made it clear in the reports that the so-called "pink slime" was not unsafe to eat, but BPI claimed that the coverage put a significant dent in its bottom line.
Wait, that's all? They mentioned the words "pink slime", so it's defamation? WTF?
I hate the anti-processed meat idiots as much as anyone, but this is just wrong.
And who is this "BPI" that sued them? Bank of the Philippine Islands? Banco PortuguĂŞs de Investimentos?
Bundesverband der Pharmazeutischen Industrie? Isn't that kind of important information?

OMG THEY'RE IDENTICAL
I mean, what are the chances that Nintendo, a company that barely spends a few millions in console research and prototypes every year, could figure out to put some buttons and joysticks together next to the screen? It's such a complex concept.
Just another patent troll trying to make a quick buck.
Definitely, but why are they going after the giant companies that have an army of lawyers on they payroll? Surely it's easy to make a quick buck from small or medium ones?
Even if the settlement is cheaper than the lawyer costs, anyone who knows game theory should understand that you don't negotiate with terrorists because you'll just attract more terrorists.
Gamevice is demanding Nintendo to stop selling the Switch
Interesting. That's a "nuclear option" if I ever saw one.
Is making absurd demands like that just the standard thing to do in lawsuits? Or maybe they're trying to scare Nintendo into avoiding the trial by posing the possibility of "look, even if it's just a 0.01% chance of losing, it could mean total destruction, so better to just pay their fee".
If a judge really ordered the Switch removed from the market, there would hopefully be riots on the streets.

Not to mention that this no-name pile of crap came out in 2013, the year after the Nintendo Wii U came out, which had this as its primary controller:

Ugh. Compared to their "big boy urinal", which assumes the user is holding it down or otherwise completely flaccid.
Not to mention their "girl urinal" seems to assume the user is not wearing underwear or otherwise has them completely down to accomplish adequate positioning.

Edit: case in point: Google's top" related search" is on how to use said device.
-
@hungrier You never know. With patent laws, unrelated things like having a camera or slightly too rounded borders can completely throw away the validity of something as prior art. While other incredibly vague details like "they both have two joysticks" can mean a product is an illegal copy.
Isn't it great that you have to study law for 8 years to be able to know if something you design yourself might be found to be an illegal copy of something else?

Why did ABC even run news reports on the shocking fact that BPI was adding lean beef to its ground beef? And why should they identify that lean beef as a separate ingredient, when the ingredients no doubt already clearly stated that it contains beef?

OTOH, did they actually say anything that wasn't true? Supposedly truth is an absolute(-ish?) defense in American libel/slander/defamation law.

Yes... but... it's not just what they factually said. If they knowingly, deliberately implied something that's false, that would also be libel -- although it's much harder to prove such a libel accusation. The party claiming to have been harmed by the false implication has to make a solid case that the person making the implication -- by statement(s) which could be interpreted in a false, defamatory way -- knew it was false and meant for it to be interpreted in that way.
This seems to be a pretty good overview of the topic:

Britta Carlson, 28, was riding the uptown 6 train to a concert on July 27 when a mysterious message popped up on her smartphone.
âiPhone 1 would like to share a note with you,â read the note sent at 6:51 p.m. She hit âAcceptâ and was horrified by what she saw. âIt was just a huge close-up picture of a disgusting penis,â said Carlson, of Bushwick, Brooklyn. The message was titled âStrawâ and was sent by an anonymous stranger.
âIt really felt like someone had actually just flashed me.â
