Condensed-matter physicists are still marketing-level, double-talking bastards, though.
You cannot imagine my hatred for condensed-matter physicists.
It sounds like there's a story here. Care to share?
I'm on the side of expanded-matter physicists.

This seems like the sort of thing that you shouldn't have to expressly prohibit:

@boomzilla What about posting Officer Nude Photos? Or Rear Admiral (Lower Half) Nude Photos?
-
@loopback0

Actually, with Admirals you get a choice. You got your Front Admiral, your Rear Admiral, your Full Admiral, or (my favorite) your Vice Admiral.

Did someone say NEWS

@boomzilla We have a radio show named after a similar incident ("The Man Who Bit The Dog") where they tell similarly silly news. They have edited a bunch of books too.
According to Wikipedia it started 20 years ago.
-
@boomzilla Isn't there a whole subreddit dedicated to Florida Man stories.

Sorry to tell you but "Bug in NodeBB" is not news. "NodeBB in Bug," now that would be news.

[the accused], also claimed that the article could not be considered a breach of the Sexual Offences Act 1992 [...] because so few people read the Ceredigion Herald that it was unlikely anyone who knew her or the guilty man would have read it.

adds the Western Telegraph to the list of sites that are rude and pushy about ad-blockers, and want to dictate how I read the Web

It's every newspaper which is part of the same network. You know, the ones which all have very similar looking websites.
-

No - not globally block it; block those sites from pulling stuff from it

I'm hoping Videotron will fight it, since that is a useful and pro-consumer differentiation amongst the worst, most expensive mobile service in the world.

Yeah, I'm affected by that (I'm on Videotron), but it goes against net neutrality, so I support CRTC's decision.
If they really want to differentiate themselves, they should treat all data the same and zero-rate all the data

Spoiler
The London Marathon.

I'm sure Rogers would find some justification to lobby the CRTC to shut that down as well. "They're violating net neutrality by unfairly zero-rating data for only their own customers"

Copyless pasting allows users to look at text on Chrome without selecting it, and then switch to another app where Assistant will suggest terms from the Chrome you were looking at to paste.

You don't know that there is no amount of context that changes it from anything but a boondoggle.
Not even the context where they were a small part of a large program of financing profitable technology companies, many of which were successful? (You know, the kind of thing VCs do all the time and no one criticizes them when some of the projects they finance fail?)
VCs do it with their own money. Not with taxpayer money.

Woah, just woah, 40 men robbed 40 million dollars in Paraguay.
They even burned cars in front of the police stations so the cops couldn't get out

@hungrier Isn't computer vision what that guy in the Matrix has?
I don't even see the code any more, it's just one weird trick, doctors hate him, hot singles in my area

So now all you ad-blocking cheapskates are going to cause them to make ads indistinguishable from content.
Thanks.
:(
-
@PleegWat And yes, I subscribe to the "ad blocking is theft" mindset.
-
@PleegWat Then I hope that when you watch TV, you make sure to stay in front of it for every commercial break.
Going to the bathroom is theft !
