I advise waiting until at least one other person has crossed safely…Agreed. When something is described as a quasi-particle, "bridge-building material" isn't exactly the first thing one should think. FWIW, holes don't make great bridges either. Besides, they are very hard to collect in isolation.

Plasma windows already exist for separating a hard vacuum from normal atmosphere. They're used on serious physics kit.
The power usage is astonishing though, it'd be gigawatts for a wall-sized one. I think the waste heat might be an issue too...

The result was that the waste heat alone would set everything in a medium-sized room on fire as soon as you switch on the saber.
And even if you handwaved that effect away, you wouldn't get neatly cauterized wounds when using it on people. You'd get exploding people.
-
@Rhywden Just put the waste heat into the beam. As a bonus it'll allow you to use less energy. Checkmate physicists

If by "elegant" you mean that you have to pick bits and pieces of your opponents out of everything.

Can it play CDs or something? It looks like it should.
-
@Applied-Mediocrity Nope, and it also doesn't do that "intelligent room-mapping" stuff that the fancier Roombas do. All that model really does is run amok bumping into things, adjusting its course whenever it bumps into something, until either it gets low battery or assumes that it's been going for long enough that it must be done.

I tend to clean the same way, though instead of batteries I go look for beer.

I went to dictionary.com to give you one, and found this:
There's no other definitions given unless you scroll down past all the clickbait, etymology, and examples to the list of other dictionaries' entries. So what does "OD" return?
Anyways, to get back on track, an overdose is simply a dose of a medication or other drug that is more than expected/prescribed. While usually used to refer to a fatal amount, that is not a necessary part of the definition. And even if an overdose is sufficient to be fatal, it may take a while to actually kill the person, so they would be able to go around and do stupid things in the meantime.

If anything, I'd have to say I'm a (Denver) Broncos fan. (And maybe the Utah Jazz.) I don't follow sports. I liked John Elway, Tim Tebow, John Stockton, and Karl Malone.
Also, TIL that the Redskins are based in D.C. For some reason, I had always thought that they were from Washington state.
Also, I hadn't really become cognizant of just how many teams are from a state that has another team.
California has the Oakland Raiders, the San Francisco '49ers, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Los Angeles Rams.
New York has the Buffalo Bills, the New York Giants, and the New York Jets.
Ohio has the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns.
Pennsylvania has the Philadelphia Eagles and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Florida has the Miami Dolphins, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Texas has the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys. And there's a few teams for a whole state or more than one state.
There're the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, and the Tennessee Titans.
And there's the Carolina Panthers, for both North Carolina and South Carolina.
And then there's the New England Patriots for all the states northeast of New York.So you might be able to understand my confusion...

When politicians are grasping at straws what you get is more than your average idiocy. If they’re from Bavaria you get extra-ordinary idiocy.
Thankfully, today is their election, so their stupid ideas will be shelved again tomorrow.
