The bad jokes topic 🐴🍹👨

The curtsy is a harsh mistress. She beckons with her temptation of being easy to learn and a classy thing to pick up, but she's a wicked one, difficult to properly master and hell on the knees.
A small example:
Indeed, I thought that a traditional proper curtsy also required holding the sides of one's skirt or dress.

The Wikipedia article says, "She may also use her hands to hold her skirt out from her body."
-
And is of course completely sexist male privilege, as men have it so much easier.
-
The royal curtsey in fashion with the current Queen requires folding the hands in the lap. Probably because it's different than what you see in period pieces.

Yes. There's something distinctively feminine about the traditional one, which is therefore now regarded unfavorably.
It's good to see that the monarch of the British Empire still has some power.
-
I was going more for, people want to feel special, so if everyone curtseys one way, they'll do it differently.
But also, in the outfit shown in the diagram, it's impossible to sweep your skirt out. You need... well, I'lll post images later of my outfit today in the lounge to show what you need :)

I thought hands-in-lap wasn't a period piece thing-- it was because if a piece of your period got through the bloomers, the Queen wouldn't see.
(I don't actually think this)

Well, it's sure about someone's privilege.
-
The royal curtsey in fashion with the current Queen requires folding the hands in the lap.
It might depend on the length of the garment on the lower half of the body. A full dress requires holding out, whereas a shorter skirt (such as in the picture) is more flexible.

Well, it is England, you never know when somebody's gonna kick a football your way.
-
At least we understand that a football is generally meant to be kicked unlike the hand egg crowd.
-
now you only need to understand how to kick it into the rival's goal
-
We used to manage generally but the goalkeepers tended to be very good under penalty pressure...
-
Everybody hates penalties. Except maybe the Italians.

I sense that there will be a lessening of the farce:

Huh. Weird, someone seems to have tagged that domain...

foodnetwork.com is pretty tasty.
The website, per se, isn't, but you know what I mean.

I have not yet tasted any part of the internet. The categorization is somewhat puzzling.

tasteless adj. considered to be lacking in aesthetic judgment or to offend against what is regarded as appropriate behavior.
If not one then the other.

to offend against what is regarded as appropriate behavior.
Oh. So the internet is rude. Got it.

And yet you can reach here...

Right? Apparently whoever votes on these things never saw this site...

I didn't vote for here.

I didn't vote for here.
No of course not. There is no game going on in this thread at all!
-
BZZZZZZT. The correct answer was "you don't vote for kings" but any part of Dennis' conversation with King Arthur about how come he is king when nobody voted for him would have been acceptable.

Oh. So the internet is rude. Got it.I was making fun of the stupid content filter you showed, to wit:
One of the flags it lists is "Tasteless", which is idiotic because you could find someone to say almost anything on the internet is tasteless (and still be within the definition of the word). So basically they're outright admitting, "We censor anything we don't like."
Which is basically saying, "We censor
anything we don't likethe whole internet."
-
Listen, just because some watery tart lobbed a scimitar at you...
-
Which is basically saying,
Yo, if you have to explain it....

I just realized: 92 more months and this presidential campaign will be the longest conflict in US history.
Yes, I know it supposedly ends in 9 months, but at this rate it will feel like 92.
You joke, but there's still people bitterly fighting Obama. And who still want to impeach Bush (both of them). And who call Clinton a traitor. Deep, bitter, unending hatred.

I haven't played Assassin's Creed in years, but for some reason this popped into my mind. Hopefully it's not too inside baseball.
Why did Desmond Miles go about climbing buildings and engaging in fights?

To be fair, she did expose some very secret stuff to the interwebs.

Background check company that screened Snowden to forfeit $30M
“Shortcuts taken by any company that we have entrusted to conduct background investigations of future and current federal employees are unacceptable,” Benjamin Mizer, the head of the Justice Department’s civil division, said in a statement. “The Justice Department will ensure that those who do business with the government provide all of the services for which we bargained.”
Last year, the Justice Department joined the case of a whistle-blower complaint filed by Blake Percival, a former USIS executive.
According to federal charges, top USIS officials knew of the dumping scheme, which had employees go through and mark background checks as complete, even when they had not gone through the proper process.

Since I was talking about Presidents, I'll either nominate you for either a or point out your rabid bias-filled hatred of Hillary Clinton, since that's what you salivatingly jumped to at the mere mention of her name.
