World Cup

I said I didn't want to know what it means!
It's okay, I didn't tell you what part of the male anatomy.
-
It's worth noting that most men come out after very little cocksing practise.
-
What's with this trend of posting pictures of mugs and calling them cups? Is this a new meme? It's not a very good one, but then again, not many memes actually are, so...
-

Come out of what? A cupboard?
-
More what? I don't even want to know what that word means.
Oh, you probably mean coaxing.
Even you of very less imagination is able to understand with little effort. World peace can thus be achievable if everyone take little effort to understand each other. Mother Teresa and Aishwarya Rai's dream will be filled.

Everyone know Proteats is a strong team, but TEAM INDIA kicked them in their groins.

No, that's where you have to crawl on your belly through a spider-infested attic to string coax cable.

Whirled Cup:
That makes no sense. The only thing worth putting into a mug is coffee, and the only coffee worth putting into a mug is black and bitter. What would you mix in that, the leftover grounds?
-
Not hot chocolate? Not even with whipped cream and marshmallows?
-
ABOMINATIONS.
(also, stirring whipped cream into the chocolate seems totally pointless. BUT IT'S AN ABOMINATION ANYWAY, so who cares.)

*flashbacks to about a week ago in the lounge...*
-
...if I use the word
impertinence
, I'm doing it for humorous purposes...
-
-
A hot toddy, perhaps? Buttered rum?

Good coffee doesn't need any of that stuff.

Looking good for sweden right now...

Edit: third place. Bloody Norwegians.

India firing on all cylinder. So far has won all matches. Go Team India!
-
Of course, so has New Zealand.
I'm still standing by my prediction of Australia to win, though. Mainly because the finals are there.
My earlier predictions are holding up pretty well so far.
Pool A looks pretty straightforward - Australia and New Zealand will dominate it, with probably England and Sri Lanka filling out the top four, though Bangladesh might get lucky and unseat one of those two.
England didn't perform as well as I was expecting and Bangladesh have indeed taken their place. If they can manage a win against NZ they'll push SL down into third, but it looks like the order will most likely be NZ, Aus, SL, Ban.Pool B is pretty tricky. India are the only really solid side there. I'm going to pick South Africa for second, but the remaining two spots are well and truly up for grabs between West Indies, Ireland, Zimbabwe and Pakistan (even though Pak are bottom of the group currently). I think most likely Zim won't quite be able to get there. If I had to bet, I'd go for WI and Ireland into the quarters
As predicted, India clearly on top, and SA should have an easy win against UAE to retain second spot. Pakistan vs Ireland is now a big game for this group. The winner will join SA on 8 points and hold third position. The loser will be equal on points with WI (assuming WI beats UAE) - so based on net run rate, Ireland really need to win against Pakistan to make it into the QFs. If they do, Pakistan will most likely hold onto fourth spot but WI could possibly take it with a big enough win against UAE. However, most likely Pak will win and Ireland will be out of the QFs; probable order India, SA, Pak, WI.So that sets up the QFs as
NZ v WI - NZ should win
Aus vs Pak - Aus should win
SL vs SA - anybody's game, should be a good one
Ban vs India - India will winThen the semis should be
NZ v SL/SA
Aus v India
Both should be good matches, but I'm still predicting Aus will win their semi, and then the final against whoever shows up.
-
Watching SA take on UAE. I am not able to believe that UAE with all its money could not find better player to come and play for them.
Edit: I blinked and SA has lost its 4th wicket.
-
The umpire of course. The umpire need to come out before everyone else, examination of pitch and stumps. Then the captain come out. There is the little ceremony of toss which is involving toss of coin up in the air and call for head or tail. Winning the toss captain decide what to do. India team like to bat first.
I would innate for a whoosh, but with @Nagesh that would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

I Don't Know's on third?
-
He would be, but he lost his wicket so he couldn't come.
-
Zimbabwe did surprisingly well against India, too. If they'd been able to break that partnership between Dhoni and Raina, it might have gotten interesting at the end there, but in the end they just didn't have the experience to contain them.
Looking forward to the QFs, should be some good matchups there.
-
Today is the day an unbeaten India takes on Australia, the other contender for the cup. Watching this live from Japan, land of sumos, geishas and samurai warriors.
-
I'm just following along on CricInfo, as well as occasionally popping my head into the break room where it's on the TV.
-
India look to be in trouble. It is up to MS Dhoni to now make a miracle happen.
-
I worked from home so had a chance to watch some of the Australia innings. Smith couldn't have played it better and this World Cup has shown that just about any number of runs is possible in the last 15 overs if you have wickets in hand.
I thought we were in trouble while India's openers were in but once Dhawan went it just seemed to drift away. No-one seemed able to rotate the strike and the required run rate went up and up until it became nigh-on impossible.
I expected a better, closer game than the one we got but, as an Australian cricket fan, happy with the result.
-
I cannot believe that India lost the match. Ithink it was pretty evidence after loosing the toss.
Now that Australia has won WC 5 time, it is time for them to retire from further tournament.
Just kidding - more power to australia and may the best team win.

Good god, it's still going on? This thing is as bad as hockey or basketball playoffs.

Or, from my understanding, a regular baseball game...

That works unless we're talking about cricket. C'mon, tea breaks?

Could have been worse. Only a few years ago he would still be commenting the same test match.
I'm still waiting for the real match to begin...
-
No, it's not still going on; the final was on March 29. Australia won (over New Zealand).
I have no idea why Nagesh decided to necro the thread at this point, just to talk about the Australia vs. India semi-final again.

You Must Be New Here™.

No, this was just a specific instance of the more general principle that roughly says "I really don't know why Nagesh decides to post anything ever."
-
This is like the third time I've read these last 2 posts. Why does Discourse keep sending me to this topic? How do I make the blue numbers go away?

Have you tried wishing really hard?
I don't know if it's safe to wish beyond a certain level of hardness... :|

It's safe, but if the hardness doesn't go away after 8 hours then consult your doctor.

Wait for the blue dots on the right-hand side of the posts to go away. This will not work if read-only mode is enabled.

Teabreaks only in test matches, son! Not in Fast version of 20/20 or One day Intl!

Well, then. Long time no see.

Hello to you too!

Nope. CSS3 and HTML5 are still the latest standards.
