Last time a swedish king tried that was in 1632. He also insisted on -- him being king and all -- having the best horse. Not a good combination.
That makes me want to encourage our Prime Minister to lead troops against IS personally. From the front, with a nice RAF logo on the middle of his chest.

TIL my keyboard layout let's me type
\
using an unmarked <nobr>AltGr+<</kbr></nobr>....if I ever feel like not using the dedicated key below Esc.
-
...
I'm glad I can get away with using English (and Colemak) most of the day.
-
TIL about Colemak.
Colemak is now the 3rd most popular keyboard layout for touch typing in English, after QWERTY and Dvorak.
So Colemak is only right behind Dvorak in popularity. Impressive!
-
opposite sides of the keyboard.
Are your 2 and 3 keys on the opposite side of the keyboard?
-
No, but my # and the Q.
There are countries besides the US on this earth, y'know?
-
Yeah, like the UK and Canada!
-
-
Wait, what is shift+'?
-
shift + 2 is "
that was the WORST to get used to when doing computer science in the UK and switching back and forth between school computers (with a UK keyboard layout) and my laptop (with US). Quoting a string left me hunting and pecking (US layout has " right beside Enter, so it's a right-handed gesture, while UK has it left-handed)
-
-
@. It's also right next to the # key, so the point about them being close together is valid.
US layout has " right beside Enter,
As does Apple's UK layout. Apart from that, it's almost identical to UK rather than US
-
-
Why is there a ¬ key but no logical conjunction or logical disjunction?
-
So you can make faces.
¬.¬ is a lot more expressive than >.>
-
¬_¬
-
Is it just me or does UK layout look like a bastard child of US and QWERTZ? Or is QWERTZ the bastard child?
I any case, fuck QWERTZ.
-
From what I've picked up about QWERTZ, it's definitely a bastard
-
And then there's another class, the French:
They might have a fine cuisine, but keyboards really isn't their thing.
-
-
Ah, the C64. The first computer I ever used. Then I grew up and got a proper PC. Then I grew up more, got disposable income, and bought a C64
-
-
So you can make faces.
¬.¬ is a lot more expressive than >.>
I use
Ò_õ?
a lot. Because I can.
-
So Colemak is only right behind Dvorak in popularity. Impressive!
So, 99.9%, .009%, .001%?
-
So Colemak is only right behind being stung by a swarm of angry hornets
<post can't be empty...>Dvorakin popularity. Impressive!
-
Are your 2 and 3 keys on the opposite side of the keyboard?
Opposite sides of the keys as well

What is this madness? O.o
-
Programmer's Dvorak?
-
-
Yup. Annoying as fuck so I stick with 'normal' Dvorak.

-
TIL what yiff means.
Top tip: don't find out.

It took you that long

It took you that long
Surprisingly, yes! I'd never seen the word before about 10 minutes ago!
-
I wish I'd not found out.
-
I did warn you!
-
Unfortunately I knew before your post.
-
We should always seek knowledge! Knowledge is good! I want more knowledge!
Googling now... you woosies!
-
That was not a fun day when i found out about that word.
Not so much because i learned it. CSI was actually very tasteful there. It was my grandmother asking questions about the episode that was horrifying
-
-
Swype. She was Asking not skiing.
-
She was Asking not skiing.
A lot of skiing you can probably pick up just by practising, but I'm sure sometimes there are some issues where a quick question to your ski instructor is the quickest way to move forwards.
-
So long as you know when to pizza and when to french-fry
-
Top tip: don't find out.
It took you that long
I wish I'd not found out.

Also: how could you not know that? You are supposed to be our furry/anthro expert!!!

Yeah, that bit was confusing to me as well. But brain bleach distracted me.
-

I'm also surprised a self-proclaimed furry/anthro expert would be disturbed by that concept...

No expert can ever know everything
@PleegWat said:I'm also surprised a self-proclaimed furry/anthro expert would be disturbed by that concept
Who said I was disturbed by it? Shocked, yes, but disturbed? Not even slightly

Guess I was reading into a context that wasn't there then.
