KitKat MotoG with Chrome:
-
There are several topics that won't load for me on my WP8.1 phone currently, and this is one of them. The spinner just keeps spinning if I click into it. If I refresh or load the page from the address bar, I just get a white screen.
Another one is the "Your ')')')') is showing" topic.
Some load perfectly normally. Not sure what the bug is here.
-
Okay, I copied the link into the bad ideas topic. Here are the results for my Nokia Lumia 930 with WP 8.1:
-
Nokia Lumia 920 running WP8.1 (with Dev Preview updates)
Clearly the 930 has quite the performance upgrade over the 920...

Hmm. Did your phone successfully load this topic?

Mine took less Is that the 8GB or 16GB one? Mine is 16GB
-
16GB, not the 4G model (because that hadn't come out when I bought it)

First time
You're undermining my earlier statements about this being a Discourse bug. Could you pretend that you couldn't load this topic and had to use the link that I posted in the bad ideas topic?
Haha! @Keith see! TRWTF is WP
Hold on a minute.

I copied some errors in the logs and sent to @eviltrout we will get this sorted ASAP

My phone ladies and gentlemen:
It was free... I should upgrade to one of those $50 chinese ones.
-
What phone is that? Almost iphone speed but looks like android / blackberry
-
@sam: Blackberry Passport
-
Looks like BB10 - probably one of the Q range judging by the aspect ratio of the screen.
EDIT- Wrong and hanzo'd

My phone ladies and gentlemen:
AHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAAHAHAAA!!!
YOUR PHONE IS BAD!
EDIT:
Small numbers are better, right?
-
Might this also take care of the endless spinner that I sometimes see when opening certain threads? (No, I hadn't reported it yet.)

Ooh, that sounds the same.
-
I'll see if I can boot up my old FirefoxOS phone and test it when I get home.
-
small is better, yep!

Firefox is faster than Chrome on Android (Assuming that @loopback0 didn't do weird things to his phone)

Today I learned WP7 does not have the ability to take screenshots, or the technique is hidden by all the online redirects to WP8's different method of doing screenshots when I do a web search. So here is a SwampPic taken from a co-worker's not-smartphone:
HTC 7 Pro, Windows Phone 7.8 (approximately 5 years old).

I did a web search; found this in about 5 seconds:

Looks complicated.

Chrome, galaxy note ii

Samsung Galaxy S5
-
Ouch! The Note 2 isn't even that old, is it?
I remember it being pretty well specced.
-
It's a couple of years old now. Not obsolete, but most people with one are likely to be coming towards the end of theirs contracts
-
Ohhh... thought it was newer than that.
Hard to keep track of the Samsung release schedule.
-
I have the same issue with this topic on my WP8.1
-
Note 4 and S 5 have been released in the last few months. Because the Note was brought out when the GS2 was current its version number lags behind by one, but they both do a roughly annual cycle.
Samsung only gets really confusing if you try to follow the 10000 other lines they have
-

Yup. I got mine a few months after it came out, so I could get it cheaper, so my contract's up in April.
That number might also have been influenced by a game in the background, or maybe not.
-
Hard to keep track of the Samsung release schedule.
Well, the Note 4 was released just in...September or October?
-
Is there any way to reproduce this without WP? I can't get it to happen ever?
Also it seems specific to this forum? Don't see those errors in the logs on meta.
