The Official First World Problems Thread™
-
Some people really don't know how good their life is, so they moan about stupid shit like this.
So I give you this wonderful thread where you can showcase your favourite first world problems.
-
What about those of us who aren't in the first world?
-
Then I invite them to make an appropriate thread for their problems.

And that where the first few when searching for donkey cart

And with that: 3 replies in and the topic is going off the rails at full speed

Just as god intended

So what's your favourite foreign takeaway?
I have a strong preference for chinese/mexican, while my wife prefers japanese or greek, although we can't order from the greek place currently due to solidarity with striking chefs.
what's your fancy?

So what's your favourite foreign takeaway?
My favourite is chinese food, I have a penchant for noodles, and I also find it very difficult to walk into a chinese without ordering sweet and sour chicken balls.
I also really like mexican and indian food. Fajitas, Burritos and Nachos: yummy. Churros for dessert are awesome. I also love a good curry, I'm a fan of hot food and chillis.
God I'm hungry now and it's only 10:46. I've got to wait until 13:00 for lunch!!!

Does not compute. Lunch is 12:00.
It probably will be after Sunday.
-
I'd forgotten about the clocks going back.

Motherfuckers. Why is it that anywhere I take my car for service apparently uses midgets to move the car‽
-
Or giants.

For you guys. We have to wait another week.

I think they deliberately employ people shorter than the average driver at all garages.

I think I've mentioned that there is a large population of Central American immigrants living around me. The pool of local mechanics is heavily weighted toward them, and they are generally really damn short. I wouldn't put myself in the population of giants, but I'm taller than most people (6'1").
-
I'm only 5'9" ish, and the seat still gets moved forward almost every time, and that's without vertically-challenged immigrant mechanics.

I don't suppose you actually saw that yourself and left a passive-aggressive reply?

My first world problem gripe: people with little yip dogs that don't leash them, so they come over and yip at my dog. One of these days I'm just going to let him eat your frigging poodle, if I have to make him do it.
-

Unfortunately not, I'd have enjoyed that.

C++ stream operators are the USB connectors of the programming world. I gotta reverse them about 12 times before they work!

If only they were symmetrical:
std::endl >> x >> "X: " >> std::cout;

Like a chocolate bar<yeah, ok, that gets dogs not on special diets, and the evil ideas thread is >?

Mercedes doesn't have a "memory" on their seat positions? My Ford has that. If someone moves it (usually me, by accident), you just push the button and it moves it back.

That's a pretty cool feature
-
Yeah, it's for multiple drivers in theory. But it also helps "reset" it.
It occurs to me though that a mechanic couldn't rely on a customer knowing about/actually using the feature, and they wouldn't be able to use it themselves as they might accidentally override someone's configuration, so. I guess the little placard makes sense?
-
My one: forgetting which games I own on disc, which on Xbox Live, which on Steam/Origin/UPlay/GoodOldGames.
I believe I own the Knights of the Old Republic games at least 3 times, without ever playing either of them.
-
I've spent £70 on Final Fantasy 9. Bought it for £40 on launch day, re bought the Platinum version for £20 after the discs got horribly scratched, then downloaded it on PSN for £10.
No ragrets

I'd forgotten about the clocks going back.
Is that this weekend? Good to know. Means I'll be synced with Utah and Colorado instead of the west coast.
-
So what's your favourite foreign takeaway?
Kebab, obviously.
Does not compute. Lunch is 12:00.
I've had lunch at 16:00 many times.

Just checked. US isn't until Nov 2. Got another week yet before the other states shift around me.
-
-
To be honest I didn't realise the US even used DST.

It does except for where it doesn't (Arizona IIRC)

It is the year 2014 and alarm clocks still don't use the internal battery to power the alarm function.

Yeah, my 11 year old BMW has that. Helpful for when my wife drives.
-
Me and my ex were close enough in height that we had both cars adjusted the same, which was handy.
At the moment it's only me so it's not an issue unless the car's been driven by one of the garage midgets. The pretty Reception/Service staff, free wifi and free coffee make up for having to adjust the seat afterwards though.
Would be a nice feature to have on a future car though.

Right. Except where your aren't (the Navajo reservation in Arizona; Hawaii; and the territories of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and the US Virgin Islands).

I wasn't sure what the rules were, which is what the timezone database does for me because I shouldn't have to deal with this shit.
