@Tsaukpaetra For some reason, my browser never refreshes cached images for this site. I wonder if it has something to do with the Cerulean skin …

@Tsaukpaetra I think my post may be a bit confusing. I'm getting the "Image is no longer available" now.

@bb36e And that's why my home linux has a 'reboot to windows' menu option.
Maybe I should publish that thing somewhere.

the Cerulean skin …
If your skin is cerulean, your body is failing to get enough oxygen, and you really should get to an emergency room rather quickly.

They all do. But if you aren't paying attention and the menu times out, you get to reboot again. That's the joke.

Nasty but not a "go to the ER right away" kind of thing.

I think he means that he can do something while his linux machine is running to make it automatically load Windows on next boot. probably something involving a GRUB script.

This. It autodetects the correct grub item, and when selecting the option it elevates to root, calls
grub-reboot
with that item, and thenreboot
. Does need grub 2 with saved default preconfigured, probably only works in legacy bios mode (UEFI would need a different shell command).

It's been ages since I've used lilo--never used grub--but even Windows has always had a "choose X after n seconds". The joke is, you wanted to boot into the non-default option, but kept missing the timeout.
-
@FrostCat Yup. Took me about half a year of having that problem till I wrote a solution. Nowadays reboots are way faster than when I wrote V1 but it's almost no effort to keep working and I still use it.

I believe it will still be somewhat explosive, but probably a little less so, depending on degradation from exposure.
-
@Tsaukpaetra well I hate to disappoint you, but it's not mine. It's just a picture I found and thought was funny.

Yeah, no. It's the Mg2+ that powers the cannon, and that's gonna get released as soon as pretty much any magnesium compound hits your stomach acids. Your body won't much care whether the citrate has degraded into something else.

Your stomach would look like this without the citrate:
-
@ben_lubar Due to gastric acid, more like this:

Even so, I can think of no plausible pathway for magnesium citrate solution to degrade in storage to elemental magnesium. You'd be more likely to end up with a proportion of magnesium carbonate and/or bicarbonate, both of which are perfectly competent cannon propellants in their own right.
