There's an entire subreddit for this sort of thing, named after that very phrase.

There's also /r/dontdeadopeninside, although with very pedantic mods.

@Gąska I had considered mentioning DontDeadOpenInside, but decided against it. I think the main difference is that in "give up" it's supposed to be for things that change to the opposite, or different message, whereas "don't dead" is where they turn into nonsense.

@dcon Yes, except that wasn't the problem.

I wonder what Unassigned is like this time of year. I imagine a lot of people will be visiting.
-
@abarker Area code 525 will be utilized for personal communication services. It will not be assigned to a geographic area.
Guess that means I can stay home.

HOME SCHOOLING

common coreI found your problem: you should have an actual homeschool curriculum.
2200 Working on an excuse to get out of school tomorrow.
How about "work" itself as an excuse?

Do I use the 12-digit or 10-digit version? Because that's the difference between going to Örebro and going to Stockholm. Although anyone born during the 1900s would be going to Örebro for the former, and anyone born during the 80s would be going Stockholm for the latter.
Tried doing it with the postal code instead. Former does not exist and the latter would be the town where I work. I would not go for a vacation there. Combination of shit town and having to go there 5 out of 7 days in a week already.

What do I do if mine has letters in it?
Don't your postal codes have letters?

Different pattern. Also, I find it really hard to remember my SSN; it's not something I use very much after all.

@Mason_Wheeler jokes aside, that exercise makes you lose weight must be one of the humanity's biggest misconceptions of all time, on par with bloodletting. It's so trivial to debunk and yet it's so prevalent. Running being good for overall health is close behind.

@Mason_Wheeler my point exactly.

It always worked for Rincewind. Something was usually close behind.

@DogsB I like this one, though:

I often say it is a lot easier to eat 1000 calories than it is to burn it.
Also, an over emphasis on aerobic exercise versus anaerobic has always frustrated me.
My husband regularly would bike to Bear Mountain and back. Round trip is ~80 miles. He hasn't gone for a number of years and is currently training to do it this year.
I said I'd do it once, just see if I could. I did and will never do it again. I joked I was good until ~50 miles, that last 30 killed me.
Ultimately, the ultra-distance probably does more harm than good. Running in particular is tough on the joints.
I joke, the only time I will run is if I'm being chased.
