Looks like it's just enough to be really annoying to drive on. Should be able to get to the station just fine, but might need to do it by walking.
My assessment was spot on the money. Not drivable (because of the subtly weird camber of the streets near home) but easily walkable.
It's not too bad here near the dreaming spires, maybe 15cm. There were two crashed cars along the way to work though.
I'm very glad I sprang for the expensive all-season tyres now, worked great in the snow.

You've got more than us. We'd be entirely OK, except the slope of the hill and the camber combine to make driving under driver control very difficult until after the snow is packed and gritted (or salted; it depends on who on the street takes action). There's something about slowly but inevitably sliding sideways into a neighbour's parked car that puts one right off…

All-season tires are the least expensive types here, and are actually illegal from December to March

And apparently my jaw has been slightly dislocated on one side for a very long time, because after he popped it back into place, my upper and lower teeth don't meet each other in the same way anymore and it feels odd. At least the pain is mostly gone now, and it ought to be back to normal in a few more days.

It used to make sense in previous versions of Windows: you could uninstall updates individually, so it needed to keep previous versions.
Now that Windows has switched to "you'll install the updates whether you like it or not", I don't see what purpose it serves.

Status: Tried out the Anthem open demo.
Am not convinced.
It started off "great" by choosing to launch on my secondary monitor - something which exactly no other game does (somehow all the other ones seem to have figured out that the monitor marked as "primary" is indeed the primary one!). Thankfully that one could be corrected.
Then you had to literally slog through their hub zone - seriously, the player character seems to be a geriatric because even a brisk walk is beyond it. They are also using this brainfart "Press and hold a key for 5 seconds to actually do something!" quite often.
I can understand it if you're using that scheme for a potentially destruction option - but for an unimportant dialogue option? Seriously?
Okay, dropped into a mission. The mission marker let me fly into a cave - loading screen. In said cave we discovered that we needed some gizmo. So out again we went - loading screen. The loading screens took longer than the time spent in the cave.
Next: Shoot some bad guys. Enemy AI: Non existant. They just stand and shoot. Okay, some hover in place and shoot. I used my Super once and it was severely underwhelming - in your starting layout you have a seeker missile. The super? It's ten of those missiles at once - I mean, it's nice but not something I would slap the word "super" on it (particularly when you compare it to Destiny's Supers where my Warlock sports a Lightning Beam of Death).
Oh, and no one seems to have given a crap about Keyboard and Mouse - flying with that combo seems awkward.
The best part, though: The final part of the mission where you had to colour coordinate three colour displays. First: The hints for which colour goes where are so well hidden that I only found one.
Second: There's no voicechat. There's no textchat. There's no way at all to coordinate with your group. Which makes a puzzle where you have to coordinate colours at three different locations (each 100m apart!) a bit ... difficult.
I'm quite underwhelmed. Destiny did and does almost all of that way better. Yes, even Destiny 1 directly after launch.

When I was in university, a roommate cooked a potato for rather longer than a potato should be cooked in a microwave. (20 minutes, or something like that. I'm told it actually burst into flame.) The microwave smelled of the burn for the rest of the time I lived in the house.

I've once forgot I was cooking potatoes and they cooked for like three hours. The entire water evaporated, I guess it was around two hours in and the last hour they were being "boiled" without water. The pot has been covered with a thick, smooth layer of soot. But the potatoes were delicious.

If software engineers did construction work, they would 100% unironically call it "separator pattern" instead of "a wall".
-
That's preposterous.
A separator pattern can also act as a floor, ceiling, roof, and other things. Indeed, it can act as multiple of those at the same time! It is a truly marvellous construct.
-
@PleegWat Yeah, it's so easy. You just have to give the separator factory the right constructor.

I only have 6 sata ports and 6 sata power plugs, so naturally I'll do this two disks at a time.
Initiate the replacement and BAM!
Critical warning.
Most excellent.
Once this is done, I hope to also upgrade the OS itself (I'm running a version from 2015 ) and happiness may possibly be achieved!

Status: YouTube algorithms are getting screwier by the day. I watch Episode 1 and Episode 2 of a series (that I was searching for weeks ago and couldn't find but was recorded months ago - I haven't changed the search terms since then. WTF?). You would think that Episode 3 is the Up Next video, but no, something else from a different series that I have explicitly avoided from a different channel is in that spot. And Episode 3 is absolutely nowhere on the related videos list at all. Christ.

Did you click the "Don't show me this suggestion" button?
It learns better when you teach it.
-
@Tsaukpaetra Remember when I said I employed a video blocking extension to stop seeing Subnautica Below Zero videos? First I tried telling it to stop showing me all of them. I blocked like forty. It didn't fucking learn. Thus, extension. I don't trust the algorithms anymore.
I reloaded, by the way, twice, and episode 3 finally shows up. Fucking YouTube.
-
@pie_flavor Watched Episode 3. Up next? Episode 7.

Status: Chrome sure does some strange fucking things sometimes. Was watching a video at quadruple speed and tabbed out of it. Except it didn't tab, and instead just started playing every other frame both video and audio. Now alt tabbing doesn't work at all - the menu doesn't even come up, nor does Chrome unfocus. Pressing the Windows button doesn't do anything either, and pressing that button was another thing I tried when the video started hitching - I don't think that's a coincidence. It's not an active-window thing, since minimizing Chrome doesn't fix it. Hmm.
e: Quitting Chrome doesn't fix it either. Reboot time, I guess.
e.2: The Start menu no longer opens. Yeehaw.
e.3: If I right-click on the Start button, my mouse moves northeast a little bit, the menu appears and immediately vanishes, and Discord pops up.
e.4: If I right-click on the Start button extremely fast, the superuser menu does in fact appear.
e.5: If I move Discord leftwards on the taskbar, it opens up the Twitch launcher instead. Right clicking the Start button seems to only be opening the rightmost open window on the taskbar.

@Tsaukpaetra Chrome has in fact broken my graphics card before. Sometimes reloading fixes it and sometimes it doesn't. Still happens on occasion. This wasn't it, though.
