Impossible, Soylent is made only with fresh ingredients, not frozen ones

Sounds like a mix between gruel and huey. :donotwant.dbf:
It's supposed to be Human fUEL, allegedly. My colleague saw the shaker logo when I first brought it into work and said 'are you drinking hurl?!'
They should make an energy bar and call it the Huel Log.

I'll have to see if I remember how to connect to the database later and try it. This computer has literally no room for any new program installations and since it's" Windows internal database" it's not like I can just remotely connect to it...

@dkf I know how you feel. Braining is hard today.
Not to make you jealous, but we get the whole week of Thanksgiving off as a school =)

@julianlam Most of the inconsistencies seem to be hand-waved away with time travel, which is pretty much the most Star Trek thing ever.
The set of like 5 episodes that they use to explain TOS Klingons is hilarious, though.

I am failing to understand how a week off can be "as" a school.

I meant that the whole school gets the whole week off for Thanksgiving. So teachers and students are done at 3:30 PM today (unless they have extracurriculars) and don't come back till the Monday after Thanksgiving. And this doesn't count against our PTO days.

Status: Being somewhat glad that today's the first day of over a week off. This would be more than "somewhat glad", except this morning I had to run down to my brother's place and haul his garbage up to my house since he couldn't be there to sticker it and put it out at the curb this morning, as he is 3 hours away getting his hand operated on.
-
@e4tmyl33t Do you go to @Benjamin-Hall 's school?
-
@benjamin-hall Ah, that was an interpretation of "as a school" that did not occur to me. I didn't get past "like, similar to, or acting in the capacity of a school."
-
@hungrier Negative. I had 20 days worth of PTO I have to burn by the end of the year, so I took from today through next Tuesday off, the last two weeks of December, and every Friday in November and December not already covered by those two.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) recently informed us that our products do not meet a select few of the CFIA requirements for a “meal replacement.”
Originally I was going to say something about cheese curds and gravy, but the actual reason is kind of interesting. Looking at the specifics, it looks like they failed because
In Soylent Powder, the macronutrient energy ratio - commonly referred to as just the macronutrient ratio - is divided as follows: 35 percent of the calories are from carbohydrates, 45 percent of calories are from fats and 20 percent of calories come from protein.
And the Canadian guidelines include
a maximum amount of energy derived from fat (35 percent)
Do we have a nutrition
discussion thread anywhere?

Note: In a sad failure of Universal Irony, the Phican corporal who fell victim to the Chainsaber V is NOT named "Butters." As a child he was never called "butterfingers," he never was seen as a "butt-er" in conversations or queues, and as a result, when the Irony came calling, he gave his life without even being a successful "butt" of a joke.

If the SQL view supporting the DTS package was doing a bunch of this:SELECT [foo] = CASE LEN(LTRIM(RTRIM(foo))) WHEN 0 THEN NULL ELSE LTRIM(RTRIM(foo)) ...
Then replacing it with SSIS derived columns of:
LEN(TRIM(foo)) > 0 ? foo : (DT_STR,6,1252)NULL(DT_STR,6,1252)
will be the exact same, right? right? bueller?
Also, bonus - the explicit cast of the type specific NULL is actually required, SSIS bitches about a syntax error if you don't put the cast of the already casted NULL in.

Status: starting a new project in VS 2017, being confused to bejeezus about the difference between ".NET Core", ".NET Framework" and ".NET Standard", especially since VS seems incapable of making new ".NET Framework" projects (the only kind I understand) anymore.
So I have a ".NET Standard" project, go to add a reference to System.Data, and I get a nastygram saying there's no Framework assemblies on my machine... huh?
At some point, Microsoft just fucking gave up and said, "hey I know, let's make things as complicated and broken as possible!"
-
EDIT: Turns out System.Data was lost in the recent .NET orgy of removing useful, proven assemblies and replacing them with vague promises. Whee. (Could be worse; ODBC support doesn't even have the vague promises!)
Fuck this noise, I'm going to create a .NET 4.6 Framework, it's greenfield development and I'm the God, I'M THE GOD!
-
@blakeyrat .NET Standard is basically the replacement for Portable Class Libraries. It's usable on any .NET implementation. .NET Core is an implementation, as is the framework you know. If you want your library to work as well on either of those or a UWP app, you should use .NET Standard. Otherwise, use what you like best.

Well he tried but Visual Studio gave him the bird on that so he tried the closest alternative, subsequently finding it lacking.

I'm more surprised that the eye-nose-stalk appears to be a vertebral extension rather than cartilaginous or a protrusion from the skull. It implies their spine goes straight through their cranial cavity (unless they're air-headed), which has all sorts of fun implications. Like sitting down too hard giving you a concussion.
-
@anonymous234 Not too surprising, obviously once Disney bought Pixar they'd be nothing but shitty sequels over and over and over and look what we got: shitty sequels. Whee. Thanks Disney MegaSuperCorp.
-
@blakeyrat It's the one universe they have that actually has some depth to it, and it doesn't get a sequel for 14 years.
But Cars, one of the most boring concepts ever, gets like a dozen because it apparently makes shitloads of money because children are stupid and have bad taste.
