Preheat oven to 218° Science
In a flat pan mix:
- 350ml Freshly Minced Onion
- 15ml Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 5ml Kosher Salt
- 5ml Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
Saute until Onion is translucent. Remove from heat and set aside
In large mixing bowl combine
- 3 Large Egg
- 600ml Italian Style Bread Crumbs

- 1 pinch Rosemary (Crushed)
Thoroughly mix, you will need to use your hands for best results. If you finish this step with
clean hands you did it wrong. Form mixture into 3mm balls and place on greased cooking
trays (should make 48-64 balls). Bake for ten minutes. Set aside to cool. While the meatballs are baking combine in large crock pot:
- 3 large cans of crushed tomatos (substitute one can of diced for chunky style sauce)
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 small can water (use the tomato paste can to measure)
- 30ml sugar
- ½ of the onion mixture.
Simmer on low for 8 hours. Add meatbals to the sauce once they have cooled to under 100°
Science and are firm to the pokeServe over Linguini with cheesy garlic bread. Leftovers make great subs.

Having an annoying issue wherein adding two columns to a table on Oracle Database takes a couple hours before killing the session with ORA-04036: PGA memory used by the instance exceeds PGA_AGGREGATE_LIMIT. What... the fuck? The columns are nullable, so why does it take more than a couple seconds? Also, it happens when adding those two columns to the table in this (new) schema but not another schema. What... the FUCK?!
So this ALTER TABLE only bombs the PGA memory used by the instance if it's run against a newly imported schema. Ran the statement late last night, it ran for an hour or so them bombed. Ran it this morning, it ran for two seconds or so and succeeded.
Curiouser and curiouser, said Alice.

About half of one, I'd guesstimate.
edit: I was wrong. Apparently it's about the size of a large onion (3/4 lb or ~1/3 kg).

The last 2 times I've stopped at this one particular McDonalds around 9:30 PM (wife wants fries every once in a while) I've stood around waiting for my order (just fries!) for probably around 15 minutes, and both times I've had the manager give me a free drink on account of the wait and then bird dog the staff to make sure they got the fries made. (It's not even like they're slammed... they have fairly steady traffic in the drive through, but it's not lined up all the way around the building or anything at that time of the night. They put fries in the fryer, in a few minutes it dings, take them out, throw salt on them, and put them in a little cardboard sleeve. I don't really get how it can take more than 5 minutes.) The last time he upgraded the fries to a large too. Without me even saying anything, mind you -- just standing there waiting.

QFT. I'm going to open my calculator on Win7 I use at work.
Oh look it opened instantly, just like a bog-fucking simple program should.
Let's try on Win10-- hmm, upwards of 5-10 seconds to launch with a fade in.
It's a fucking CALCULATOR! It's literally the simplest program a computer can run. People use it to add two small numbers together. The computer, in theory, is able to do BILLIONS of those per second.
Wanna bet they haven't even fixed any of the weird division errors?

I recently bought Age of Empires II's Rise of the Rajas expansion pack, and was surprised when the steam client didn't do any downloading or syncing of files after I bought it. When I ran the game, all the new content was immediately available.
I feel a tad gipped... I think I just paid $8 for a bit to be flipped.

I did some more investigating, just out of curiosity, for a point-and-click game that's published on 9 platforms
Platform Price Windows Store (Phones) 3 € Windows Store (Desktop) 7 € Amazon Appstore for Android 5 € Google Play 5,50 € iTunes 5,50 € Steam 8 € Mac App Store 8 € Xbox One store 10 € PlayStation 10 € Clearly there's quite a bit of price differentiation here. Console owners are willing to pay the most, then PC owners, then mobile devices.

Solution: she can use web.skype.com while I use the new Windows 10 Skype client. Works perfectly.

What's the unit? A float to represent times within a minute or second would be perfectly cromulent.
This unit is tracking against replay and duplication attacks on the server connection logic; Essentially, it's a time ticker that gets put into the challenge that the server sends to a connecting client, and if the challenge response time is the same or greater than the current time (when the client responds), it is rejected.
What's happening is that after a given amount of time, the float becomes > 65k or whatever, and so the tick is no longer very effective at changing the "current time" anymore unless the tick rate is low enough, and since the "current time" isn't being incremented anymore, the server assumes that connecting clients are somehow instantaneously responding to challenges in the same tick as they're being sent and therefore kicking them from the connection.
It works fine when the float exponent is reasonably small, but... yeah. After a few days of running, it's not so fun.
-

Now that analysis happened I can be a bit more verbose.

I'm pretty sure most game servers aren't made to run for large numbers of days in a row without a reset. Even MMO servers eventually turn off and back on.
