I'll throw in a question here, despite threads being free. If I get any answers I may spawn a thread later.
I am looking to set up a string ensemble with my daughter and her friends (3 violins, 1 cello). I am now hunting for music for them to play, which should be based on their interest but also what is playable. I've got a few candidates, but may need help in arranging the music for best effect.They have played for some three years now (in a youth orchestra as well), so not too advanced (but not too simple either).
So:
- Is there anyone here who has experience in arranging music (and would be interested in helping me out)?
- Any suggestions for where to get sheet music online?
-
@luhmann
And more importantly ... why do I keep filling my cup?
-
: Did you know dogs are as smart as a two year old baby?
: Huh.... so that means that we get dumber as we age? because if my dog is as intelligent as a baby i know many adults that are dumber than my dog.....

were you eating this
???
cause....
well they have the '08 fire challenge, a double order of wings (12 wings) drenched in that stuff. You have ten minutes to eat it, and you gotta last for twenty minutes after you start without drinking, eating anything else or failing to keep them down.
they've been offering the sauce and challenge since '09 when they rebuilt the place after the fire that gave the sauce its name. to date their wall of fame has five photos on it. their wall of shame has had to be extended to a second wall.
sat three tables over from someone taking the challenge once and i couldn't stay there, even that far away it was still overpoweringly hot.

I love spicy food, but this masochism about stuff that's literally painful to eat or even touch doesn't make sense to me.
Spice is part of the flavour profile of a food, and can enhance the rest of the taste. All that goes out of the window when every other part of it is drowned out by burning your tongue just for bragging rights

Nashville hot chicken
If you're in Nashville for reals, hit up Hattie B's for some ridiculously hot chicken. I ate it up, but it was causing visible physical reaction - my head was pouring sweat and anywhere the sauce touched skin around my lips, it would turn bright red.
I've eaten Bhut Jolokia, Habaneros, Red Savinias straight... there comes a point where it doesn't even matter anymore, you can't tell the difference in hotness. And this chicken was at that point.
Downside is... that place has a line every night stretching a full block down the road.
We are currently planning to spend a week or so in Nashville/Memphis for the kid's Fall break. Will have to check it out. Plus a trip to Prince's Hot Chicken Shack, of course.

if you just ate soemthing that caused you that much pain do you think i'm going to let you so much as touch me? cause if it burns your mouth like that what do you think it will do to me if it gets somewhere?!
no thank you!

Spoilered for those with a weak constitution I once got down to some fun with my then girlfriend after cooking a curry and without washing the chilli off my hands properly. By the time the internal burning started it was too late. She resorted to filling a teapot with milk and inserting it in the afflicted area

Had IAX working between two locations yesterday. Change one of the machines, copy the config over, no dice. Try with the old machine, nothing.
IT WORKED YESTERDAY.
The most fun part? Auth should go like this:
Send REGREQ Receive CTOKEN Re-send REGREQ but this time with token included Do all the other handshake stuff
Works perfectly on connection from server A to B. Connection from server B to A however...
Send REGREQ Receive CTOKEN Ignore anything that happened and retry sending REGREQ completely ignoring the token Receive CTOKEN Ignore anything that happened and retry sending REGREQ completely ignoring the token Receive CTOKEN Give up due to getting bored
I think I may give up as well, but not because of boredom but because I need to blow something up to calm down.
-
@onyx
You know there's a reason that they called it "eeeeeeks", right?Is there an IP mis-match in the configuration on server B? Such that the response from A is coming from a different IP than the B configuration is expecting and B is thus ignoring the response from A?
-
@izzion I have suspected that, but:
- we haven't changed the network config
- according to tcpdump / Wireshark the IPs match
- I see no IP information in the IAX packet itself, so even though there is masquerading and shenanigans happening, how would it know?
And the only reason I'm even trying IAX is that the only other option was configuring my own STUN server, because fuck SIP over NAT. Which I would try, too, if THE DAMNED THING DIDN'T WORK YESTERDAY AND IT WAS LESS WORK INITIALLY!
Ehm.
Yeah, I'm shouty.
-
@onyx
I remember (back from the * 11 days, so YMMV) that IAX was really bitchy about the allow/deny rules in the configuration, and would silently drop without really any console logging if the response partner wasn't in the allow/deny rules correctly.I may or may not have resorted to
allow=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
at certain points in my "why won't you work" screamingEdit: To clarify, my recollection is that it used one setting for determining where to initiate a connection, but used a different setting to determine where to expect the response from, and had another set of settings (intended more for dynamic/roaming peers) for which IPs to potentially listen to traffic from. But I don't know if they changed IAX to be more pjsip-y in its configuration or not.
-
@izzion by the application of "just copy whatever you find on the Internets and scream when it goes wrong" method, I have concluded that it's
permit
, notallow
(makes sense,allow
is for codecs). And yeah, no dice:Tx-Frame Retry[002] -- OSeqno: 000 ISeqno: 000 Type: IAX Subclass: REGREQ Timestamp: 00018ms SCall: 14214 DCall: 00000 10.0.0.254:4569 USERNAME : GSMProxy REFRESH : 60 Rx-Frame Retry[ No] -- OSeqno: 000 ISeqno: 001 Type: IAX Subclass: CTOKEN Timestamp: 00018ms SCall: 00001 DCall: 14214 10.0.0.254:1027 CALLTOKEN : 51 bytes
@izzion said in The Official Status Thread:

Nope, same old config... It's bound to
0.0.0.0
, has permit set to0.0.0.0
, all hosts are dynamic and I'm using theregister
directive, though static hosts did nothing either... I am fucking stumped is what I am.
-
@onyx
Hm, yeah, assuming the true device behind 10.0.0.254 is seeing the REGREQ come back through and responding to it, I'm not sure what the issue could be.Unless your NAT firewall is eating a response somewhere in the chain?
-
@izzion Running IAX debug in the same way on the other end shows
REGREQ
s coming through andCTOKEN
s being sent out with the correct call ID. The problematic server just seems to be ignoring those messages outright, even though it logs them in the console

I would personally start looking at the free MIDI sites, most composition programs can import them into sheets fairly easily. Other than that, I be experience actually arranging them...

Can you place a call from A to B using the DIAL(IAX2/user:password@ip.of.b/callednumber) syntax? Or is calling non-functional as registration?Should I just shut up, and/or should we ask for a jeffing?
Edit: Also, I'm implicitly assuming Asterisk to Asterisk here, but if one side is a call gateway, some of those I used in my past life had IAX implementations that didn't support the encryption settings from Asterisk 11 and I had to disable IAX encryption. And looking through the sample file suggests this might also be of use...

Status: I just tried the Stylecop analyzer. That thing is stupidly well made, and I agree with it on most things.
The one thing that weirds me out, though, is their convention for usings:
namespace Jorgleblehk { using System; }
rather than the more common:
using System; namespace Jorgleblehk { /// ... }

I appreciate someone else having a looksee and verifying I'm not doing something stupid. I think jeffing might be good, could also post config there (no real secret stuff in there anyway).

@onyx Well, if the same config worked yesterday and the versions of the software are the same, something else must've changed instead. That's Logic.
Unfortunately, according to the information we've got it could be due to the lack of total solar eclipses in the past 24 hours…

No, that's actually pretty normal functionality for Asterisk (especially their proprietary stuff... their standards based stuff usually functions better).
