Worse, some have

Fair enough?
This may have already been pointed out in one of the 200+ posts I haven't read yet, but no. You defined a die reasonably well, but did not describe its fairness at all. To be fair, the distribution of random numbers generated by the die must be uniform over the range of possible values.
I thought that was covered under "uniform density and shape".
That's definitely not enough to justify a die's "fairness" imo...
As far as I know, the only ways to make a die return non-random numbers involve creating it with irregularities in its density or shape.
Or, in the most simple case, a die that has some identifiers which occur on more faces of the die than other identifiers. The die that I described had a different identifier on each face; it goes without saying that if you put the same identifier on two sides, you'll double the likelihood of it landing on that.
Allow me to example: a die made of, let's say Ooblek, can be made to have all of the properties described but being unable to hold its shape at STP will immediately become unfair despite being created so.
-
@Tsaukpaetra sure, but my description was sufficient to deduce that if it loses its regular shape, it's no longer a fair die.
-

Are you so sure? Can you really do accurately predict the deductions or others that there is no possible way they would not do so in the manner Other than what you described?
-
@Tsaukpaetra it should've been sufficient, since I described a regular polyhedron and nothing in my description suggested that it'd still be a fair die if its shape was significantly altered later.
-

This sounds like the kind of logic that says, "we don't have docs since you can read the source code yourself!"...

@Tsaukpaetra Definitely go for sugar sand: it's one of the softest you can get ;)
Would that be the precipitate of calcium maleate that forms while refining maple syrup, the fine sand from New Jersey used to prep baseballs, or the granular calcite from Kansas?
Also, sugar is not something one wants in one's vagina; yeast infections are not pleasant.

That one.

@Tsaukpaetra said in The Official Status Thread:

I can accurately predict that at least one (former?) other will fail to infer any inference, no matter how obvious.

I spent some time thinking about this. At first I thought you were talking about me, then now I believe otherwise.

Status: I think I finally found the UI in the UI project of our horrible mess. I don't know much about Angular 2, but that's what we're using. We seem to have
.html
files with a single div and like 4 attributes in them, surrounded by like 5 typescript files that seem overly declarative. That seems... really weird imo.

Status: So, I got this offer for 1 month of online access at half price to some newer TV series by a German Pay-TV provider (called Sky). Since that's the only legal means currently to view Legion or Westworld in Germany I took the offer.
First sign of troubles: Upon accepting the offer, it took them 2 hours to "approve" my request.
Second sign: You're supposed to protect your account with a 4-digits PIN.They seem to have fixed the issue. However, another one popped up which is most likely unfixable:
Do you know what a major feature of a streaming portal is? To be able to watch a series or movie whenever you like.
They actually managed to make a shitty version of that feature: Some series episodes have a very limited time available. Which means that if you missed the start of a season then you won't have the chance to see those. Jesus Christ. Who had that particular brainfart?

They have an official app by the way, for Android, iOS and Windows Store.
Just tried to use the Windows version. It gave me an error message when I tried to watch an episode: I need to turn off my secondary display first because, and I quote, "you are not allowed to use your Android phone to project videos onto a TV screen".
If I try to stream the same episode using my browser it will happily display in full screen mode on any screen I want to.

Status: Today a few of the remaining compact fluorescent bulbs in my office decided to randomly flicker on and off. They were behind me, and out of my field of vision and by the time I would turn around they would stop. But, for a few minutes, I fully expected a jump scare. It was like being in a horror movie or video game where the lights start to flicker right before they go out and you get attacked.
Unfortunately, the only replacements I could find were the shitty bluish cast ones that I hate. The kind of light that you get in horrible rest stop restrooms.
Time to go to Costco and get more bulbs.

Sounds like it must be a Xamarin app - and the screen check is done in all versions.

Does Costco have the LED versions yet? (I need to replace a few of those 4ft tubes...)

Because you wouldn't be allowed! Only the authorized union light bulb changer can do it (and he's on vacation for 3 weeks).
True story: Many years ago when I worked for AT&T, we were rearranging offices. The union people could do it in a week. We put the (big heavy CRT) monitors on chairs and moved them. Finished that day. Got in trouble the next week.

Yes. They have replacement shop light fixtures anyway. I believe I have also seen the retrofit tubes.
They also have LED screw in bulbs and can light bulbs.

They also have LED screw in bulbs and can light bulbs.
Done most of those...
