At that point, if I'm still using this one at all, it will have been repaved with some variety of relatively lightweight Linux that can happily run on the older hardware.
I just want to point out that Windows 10 runs very well in my Core 2 Duo with 2GB of RAM (after I upgraded the disk to a SSD).

"You're a developer? FUCK YOU!" Not the attitude I appreciate. For me, allowing me to edit my

Right, because government monopolies are sooooo much less susceptible to corruption and graft than private ones. Not to mention that governments would never deny service to people they don't like.
The real problem with public / political / government stuff is that there is very rarely any incentive to make stuff less bad. Yes, it's worse than even telcos.
Our phone system would be lucky to look like the 1970s if we let government run it.

Why didn't they just make Python installations happy to sit alongside each other in the first place?

Status: trying to drink a Martini. I have no idea why people insist on calling this thing a cocktail when it's pretty much straight gin in taste, feel and strength. With a fucking olive.

@Maciejasjmj
I have a friend whose martini is literally gin with an olive.

@Weng could've been worse. It could've been vodka.

@Maciejasjmj he also drinks what he calls a Vodka martini

I have a friend whose martini is literally gin with an olive....Alfred Hitchcock's martini recipe, calling for "five parts gin and a quick glance at a bottle of vermouth," or Winston Churchill's, which calls for drinking a tumbler of gin while bowing in the direction of France.

There was indeed a time when a martini would have more vermouth than gin, rather than a cocktail glass of gin which someone would blow the vapors from a vermouth bottle onto. I understand that such sweet martinis are still the more common type in most of Europe, but I have no experience of this myself (not having been further out of the US than Montreal - like some wines and cheeses, I don't travel well). Somewhere in the early 20th century, the idea of a 'dry' martini caught on in NYC, supposedly (according to one thing I read, no idea how accurate it is) as a sort of Prohibition-era joke - a 'martini' was just a way of ordering straight gin, since vermouth was pretty much impossible to come by and it sounded amusing to say it that way. Anyway, for whatever reason, in the US ordering a martini has long since become just a way to order pure gin without looking like a total alcoholic.

{in the dealer room} Hey, there's Temmie Cheng. @ben_lubar likes Undertale, right? Might be nice to get him a sketch.
Hi. Do you do comissions?
No.
............ okay, thanks.
kind of artist (especially one who has their own booth a dealer's room) doesn't do commissions? Everyone I know would be "Sure, $50 for a b/w sketch of your favorite character with some extra stuff thrown in" (for some values of $50).
So sorry, Ben. Here's some Dwarf Fortress fan-art instead: @

TBH I was confused about the seats overall. I was under the impression that rock concerts typically don't have seats, as everyone is expected to jump around and stuff?
Filed under: Full disclosure: I have never attended a concert

@Maciejasjmj Pavilion venues are like that. MoshFloor area, civilized seating zone, then a giant outdoor lawn area.
We got up and ran when the fire department and Cops showed up in force. Unfortunately, were were literally parked in the most inaccessible part of the lot. So yeah.

I attended to one once. There was seats, people started jumping over them and broke a lot of them.
Overall the experience was worse than being at home listening to mp3 and I fail to comprehend why jumping around is supposed to be entertaining.
