Rebooted my phone for a reflash. For some reason the system clock jumped two hours ahead...

Bah. I've used 24-hour time on just about any clock capable of displaying it (and under my control to do so) for, probably, more than 3 decades.

@HardwareGeek We actually tried to enforce 24h time for all our installers at the ISP I worked at previously. And it's really my preferred time system, tbh. Too bad my current ticketing system will interpret 345 as 3:45pm if I forget the leading 0

Well, I suppose I should clarify: It jumped ahead, but only while in Recovery to do the flash. Once it finished it's back to normal again.

@Tsaukpaetra The HD itself might be toasted then. You could try a disk check and see if it reports any bad blocks.
Oh right! I scheduled a disk check upon reboot, then scheduled the reboot (along with Windows Updates, because why not) at 3AM.
That would explain why it rebooted as soon as I tried to unlock the machine, but not why it didn't do that at 3AM...
Windows: Reboots when you don't want it to, can't reboot when you do.
WTS! My laptop has been stuck "Rebooting" with swirling circles since I posted that screenshot 3 hours ago.
Apparently it borked, so I used another computer to send a shutdown to it, which happened to work.
Now of course, I get to wait for several hours while it performs the chkdsk I told it to nearly 15 hours ago!
FML.
Good thing I don't typically need my home computers working while at work...F*** f*** s*** p**** f***!!! !!

In my case, no. I think it started when I became a ham and all radio contacts were logged in not just 24-hour format, but in UCT.

This unit has been surprisingly good to me. No complaints for being a laptop.

Otherwise, yeah, I would have been done in less than half an hour.
I still occasionally burn CDs — photos for aged relatives of youngsters' birthday parties — but don't recall ever needing close to that long for that much data. Well, not in many years…
An average burn rate for a typical 700 MB CDR at 24x (4 MBPs) should take about 25 minutes, not including any image building or other pre/post processing that happens in the meantime.
Eh, I'm sure you could get a better burn rate with some powerful oxidizers like chlorine trifluoride.

@Yamikuronue probably. Good luck getting the uninstaller or repair to run.
I didn't even know there were Express versions for VS2015. Isn't it community or paid versions now?

Status: Yesterday I tried to do some light sound support (i.e. one microphone) for an event and wasn't able to turn on the speakers. The subwoofers had their on-/off switch located directly on them, but the speakers are hanging from the ceiling, 4 meters above me, so they weren't really accessible. And because I only had 20 minutes to get everything working, I finally had to ask my colleagues to make do without a mike (which, as they are all teachers, is not such a huge problem :-) )
Today, with the help of our caretaker, I was able to find the on-/off switch for the speakers, or at least what amounts to them: The circuit breakers in the locked room beside the stage. Everything else can be found on stage.
Effin' genius.

Status: Gave Pokémon GO a try. Seemed charming, but only a few days in and I see it's a massive grind fest where it would take me so long to get to a point where I could battle a gym (possibly slightly successfully) and I'm sure by then, the defenders will be even stronger.
So I wasted items to get what Pokémon I had a bit leveled up, tried a gym to see, lost hard and got absolutely nothing for it, and now all 6 of them require revives and/or potions, which cost real money and "supposedly" come from Pokéstops (but not for me, I just kept getting eggs).
So, I quit. If I want a better grind in Pokémon, I'll just go back and play Pokémon Red. And my phone's battery will thank me.
Status: Sometimes disliking that the source control used at my work has an exclusive checkout mode, and especially dislike that it is the default mode when installed, and my boss prefers using it.

Goddammit, now this seems to be stuck...
I just need to write like, 50 lines of C# as a demo for a coworker! I couldn't install the C# plugin for Eclipse either, I'm tempted to grab MonoDevelop or something
ETA: As soon as I post here, it gets moving again. go figure.
-
THEN WHY DID YOU LET ME INSTALL IT YOU PIECE OF SHIT?!
Whatever. Run anyway.
If it will expire, then it's not expired yet, so... why can't I run it, exactly?
-
@ChaosTheEternal
you should have gotten 10 revives for free on hitting Level 5...

Actually, apparently her followers do believe that.
-
@izzion Should have. Didn't. I only had 1.
The game hung when it was displaying the "Level 5" flashy screen. That probably caused it. Also, in the few days I played, the game probably hung nearly a dozen times total, mostly when trying to catch Pokémon. What made it worse was they would no longer be there when I brought the game back up (even if I stayed in place, which I usually did), and weren't caught if it hung when it was checking if they'd break out of the Pokéball.
Also a bit questionable, as from what I could see, every Pokémon Gym in my area was a church.
