Nothing makes you wonder "where did I go wrong in life?" quite like looking at TCP traffic traces.
If this stupid
Fatal Error [A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond]
issue doesn't fix itself, I'm going to have to start doing that myself. But with over a week's worth of potential capture data...

It was a schema change.

@onyx I once diagnosed a customer call to a kernel bug by looking at a TCP traffic trace. Did a search of lkml, found a diff, and sorted.

At the dentists today for a teeth cleaning, because they don't make Fox Dentures so this is the only set of teeth i'll have and i need to take care of them.
Dentist actually said "My what big teeth you have"
this led to a thirty minute lecture on Grimm's Faerie Tails and the taxonomic differences between wolves and foxes.

sure! last time i went this one dentist paid me to sneak up on this other dentist that was lounging in a folding lawn chair and nip him on the ass so he'd chase me until he was falling down in exhaustion.
Jokes on him though. i took his money and had @Perverted_Vixen do the nipping and running. She likes to do that sort of thing.

Did some changes a few weeks ago that never got checked in to TFS because at first I was waiting on some confirmation for something, then I started on some more urgent stuff on a different branch.
Came back to it today to find all my local changes have disappeared. My bad for not sticking them in a shelveset.

I'm not sure if you mean that as a fox thing or as a sex thing.

I meant the fox thing, but i didn't actually watch what happened and it is @Perverted_Vixen so anything could have happened.

... I guess it depends on if there's other real education in that section. Either way it's kind of a pretentious thing, to be sure. That's not what that section is generally understood to be for.

I'm tempted to say it's a bad thing, as Education is meant to be for formal education in recognised establishments like schools, colleges, and universities. A certification from a company in their own product isn't the same sort of thing.

Status: Waiting for my ISP to upgrade my speed package. Went in their office this morning and traded in my modem for a newer model so I could go from 25/2 to 100/10. New modem is already giving me 50/2, but I surmise they have to move me to a different headend or something on their side to turn on the 100/10 speeds, which they said will be on by 5PM.
...New status: Impatience is killing me.

Thanks for reminding me: The law actually states that the shop has the chance to repair something twice and it's only after the 3rd attempt that they are forced to do a refund if the customer wishes so.
Maybe that's another angle of attack should they prove reticient.

So it turns out that when validating that student email addresses are in the right format, one should use the student format (lastname.firstname@foo.org
), not the faculty format (first initial then last name at foo.org).Was wondering why it was working fine for me but not for the students. Bah.
self.total_derps += 1 Error: Integer overflow in variable self.total_derps

@rhywden It was once here but checking the law it now looks like the consumer can demand a replacement/money back the first time something happens.

I can't whine in this thread while I work because the customers can access this forum within like 4 clicks of the website they submit support tickets on.

@heterodox I got one a few days ago that was from "my credit card provider" who had a better deal.
I asked, "ok, before we go forward, one question for you: what bank is my credit card through?" When she couldn't answer I just hung up.
Yeah, I've gotten those before, mostly automated or pause before connection to a human. I've never had a health-related one though.
This is why I almost never answer the phone anymore. Don't recognize the number? Answering machine will screen. 100% never leave a (real) message.
-
@magus To explain this further, sometimes links from other apps, when handed to Sleipnir, cause it to create a second instance of itself, and also sometimes make about:blank tabs for each tab in the second instance in the first instance.
Additionally, because click+scroll and rightclick+scroll change tabs, you sometimes cannot click and drag things on webpages if you also have to scroll.
