Dictatorship
There still seems to be room for improvement ... but don't let that stop your attempts at world domination ...
May I ask where you recruit your minions? Mine seem always in short supply ...

Here.
We've had a lot of budget cuts since the whole "Death Star" fiasco.
The plan is not working well.

+1 for hints of "Advance to Boardwalk - pay me $2000"
-1 for hints of Barbershop quartet-ish-ness.
All in all, not quite what I was looking for... needs more Stalin.

The "personals" thread is over, there, somewhere...
What you did there...it has been noticed.

Plenty of space for a hat there.
I get enough requests that I don't do drive-by-hattings anymore.

Needs less Village People.

Status: anticipating the butthurt tomorrow, when the part-timer comes in and reads my response to the email she sent me at 3:02 just before she walked out the door for the day, which basically consisted of "I can't answer this question", "that will probably require custom code for that customer", and "I won't be around tomorrow at 9AM because I've got a doctor's appointment, so I won't be there to answer questions for the customer when they call you".

At least you won't be there for the initial anger wave :)

Status: Outlook's really fucking awful at turning vector images into PNGs. It screws up the font smoothing something fierce-- exact same image looks fine in the email window.
For all you people who don't think I ever complain about Microsoft software.

You never told us if you succeeded in installing that SQL server last week.

So … an email client sucks at doing image conversion? Is this supposed to be a surprise?
-

Have you ever tried? I've succeeded before, but if you don't have a guide, you may never make it past the first four wizards.

I fail everything I attempt.

The surprise is it looks good in the email window. So Outlook has two image converters, once of which works well and the other produces crap.
They could have just blitted the pixels in the window to a PNG and it'd have looked twice as good.

I'm actually a little disappointed that I am not going to be there and have something else more important than helping her with a customer so I could tell her too bad, shoulda asked me earlier.

I use the same name at a couple other places, though I'm less active in the comments in those as I am here. I used to be fairly active on /. too, but I rarely enter the comments there any more let alone post; my last post was in October. (I wish that site had a way to download all your comments though.) I'd say there are about five forum-y sites that I currently follow that I post at least occasionally, and two that I read a lot of the posts on.
Imgur is one I don't look at most comments so it doesn't become a huge time sink, but I just can't miss a chance to break out the "Baby's First Road Atlas" line. ;-)

From testing stuff with copying vectors I was pretty convinced that whatever you're copying the SVG from handles the conversion and sticks both the PNG and the SVG in clipboard.
-
Who's talking about copying? Stop listening to the little aliens whispering nonsense into your ear and read what I typed, please.
I right-clicked the vector image and picked "Save as Picture..."
-
Oh, for some reason I thought you were attaching an image. not saving from email. My bad.
And I'm keeping my voices, thanks.
-
You can listen to whatever hallucinations you want, just don't respond to my posts as if I said that bullshit.

See, this additional information contradicts your earlier claim.[1] Now you've got:
- An image renderer.
- An image converter.
So there goes your claim of 2 image converters. And I'd be surprised if either the renderer or the converter were a native part of Outlook, they're probably part of Windows.
[1] Not really, it just makes this all clearer.
-
See, this additional information contradicts your earlier claim
No it doe--
[1] Not really,
Oh look, you already knew that, you're just being a dumbfuck.
-
Well, your earlier claim:
So Outlook has two image converters
Is still a pile of shit. So this post specifically doesn't contradict that claim, it just made it really easy to point out that your claim was full of .

All night long it was:

"Daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy...he pooped another jelly bean."
"Daddy, daddy, daddy, look! He pooped another jelly bean!"
Best $2.29 I ever spent.

Status: Curious.
I was 80-odd posts behind, made a quip about your mouse bashing your computer and not the other way round, then downthread realised that the avatar change was a direct consequence of the mouse-breaking discussion, and so decided that rather than behing hanzo'd by a frigging avatar change I'd delete my post instead.
And that, gentlepeople, was all in one sentence. Henry Fielding would be proud of me.

Ok. That renders, so if I just remove the "active" bit it should work, then we can figure out why...

My first thought was Reply, which makes no sense. A bit more cogitation suggests you're probably buttuming we're jumping to regex. Which would be nasty
-
... yeah ...
-
Not sure this is a huge red flag. They seem to be using some kind of parser, before feeding chunks into the regex.
