csproj and sln files also contain shit like build settings.
Fuck. All. That. Merging those sections is quite literally not possible. Even VS/TFS give up and ask for help (and doing it by hand? Yeah you're boned.)
-
Merging XML in general is not something you want to be taking on, if you can possibly avoid it...
-
But wait, there's more! Order now and you'll also receive ...
When Billy Mays died, there were three famous people who passed shortly before him. One of our more humorous radio DJs here made the joke, "They always say that celebrity deaths come in threes. Leave it to Billy Mays to throw a fourth one in for free."

Never heard of Billy Mays, that I can recall.

Different sides of the same crappy coin.
Can't argue with that, although I've never watched Home Shopping Network, except in passing while channel flipping.

Yeah, but one, there are other things I'd rather watch or read to fall asleep, and two, I don't own a TV.

-
Yay onebox!

You're a damned Communist.
I used to have one, but it was stolen when my house was burglarized a year-and-a-half, or so, ago. Buying a new one hasn't been a high priority. I never actually watched TV on it, just movies, and I can do that just as well on the computer monitor (which is almost a big as my former TV).

Status: Discovered this abomination while trying to figure out what a particular error code meant. This is (C) code we've inherited when we bought out another company...
DBG("** TLA_STREAM_RELEASED (%d): %s",reason, reason==TLA_OK?"OK": reason==TLA_ERR_ADDR_IMPOSSIBLE?"address impossible": reason==TLA_ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED_BY_REMOTE?"instance refused": reason==TLA_ERR_NO_TLA_ROUTE?"no route": reason==TLA_ERR_SHUTDOWN?"shutdown": reason==TLA_ERR_GENERAL?"general": reason==TLA_ERR_AUTHENTICATION?"authentication failure":"unknown error");
(I was getting the
TLA_ERR_ADDR_IMPOSSIBLE
code. Which despite its name, basically boils down to, after 5-or-so layers of obfuscatory code, toEADDRINUSE
.)

I've developed a cramp in my calf muscle while sleeping which I couldn't get to quickly enough. This felt like a strain the next day.
Bit I guess you know what cramp is and this wasn't it.

Status: You have a form with various search parameters and a button which redirects you to filtered treeview. How do you pass the filter parameters to the treeview?
Solution: pass them to a sproc which concatenates them all into a huge
AND field = value AND field LIKE value AND...
chain, stores it in the DB under current user's name, then the treeview calls another sproc which pulls the conditions from the database, pulls the base query from another table, screws with it further, executes it, and finally gives out the data, all this in like 2k lines total.Of course.

It had to be done. That's all I say.
It was either that or lying awake tonight wondering if it could be done...

it's done? you got iteration working then?

What else did you expect round here other than abuse of some new functionality?

No; haven't had time to think about it yet. My guess is that I will need to put the instruction pointer into the data array as well and just arbitrarily map-call the function a thousand times or so. Problem is that you cannot really have functions with side-effects so you can only do one thing at the time, which will be a hassle if you need to update the instruction pointer too.
This would be so much easier with recursion. :sigh.mp3:

you can do it i'm sure. we must prove that math.js syntax is turing complete!

Oh, that's not the problem. You can have recursive functions, but mathjs' stack blows up after two recursive calls.

Spent yesterday evening sitting in a restaurant with my knee jammed in between the legs of the two tables that were pushed together. This morning, my knee hurts. The other knee.

Too much working with sloppy focus?

My machine should do what I want it to do, not what I tell it to do.
-
Hey, scrolling works at least. On Linux that is. If I had a penny for every time I desperately spun the scroll wheel on a Windows machine while it didn't have focus, I might be able to buy a sandwich!
-
Why can't you switch between windows by scrollwheeling on the task bar in Windows?
-
I miss being able to use "Always on top" and Alt-dragging waaay more than that, tbh.

Sounds like I would use that feature, especially since my taskbar is vertical.

Which reminds me, I have an older version of Cinnamon now, resize is Pick a key + Middle_Mouse here, and I just got used to Pick a key + Right_Mouse like it's in the newer version. Need to check if I can change that. Especially since it's so much easier to do on a touchpad.

That is always fun when your focus is actually on a Discourse tab. All the single-letter keyboard shortcuts can cause shit to happen in a hurry when you start typing outside of an editor window.
