Why isn't there anybody yet in area_usa?
Maybe it will work better if it gets renamed to
area_'murica!
?

@Nagesh would qualify for area_awol.

Not sure if good idea. He'd have to share it with morbs, and who knows what morbs might do...
... I mean, excellent, excellent idea!

I am there.

I seem to recall something with a toucan morbs wanted to do to somebody... probably some other toucan than the one posted above.
-
Found it. It was @ben_lubar, thinking @morbiuswilters wanted to kill him with a toucan.

Forced to use IE for a few minutes. Time to re-shower.

Current status: apparently getting sent off to UK for 3 months or so, with no contact from a person who was supposed to find me some place to live there.
Any nice bridges in London with good WiFi connectivity?
-
```
white-space: pre;
word-wrap: break-word;Tried that, didn't work. What's worse is how many google searches sent me to StackOverflow with something like that, and it doesn't even work! I also gave up on vertical-align:middle;
-
Also, Discourse quote fail. I wasn't even trying to do any Markdown stuff there, it broke on its own.
-
funnily enough (referencing the linked thread) - Jeff's 2 month deadline is up in 2 days. I wonder if the community likes discourse enough to keep it?
-
That only works on elements with
display: table-cell
Which require a parent withdisplay: table-row
Which requires a parent withdisplay: table
FUN!
Filed under: YMMV, but I couldn't get it to work any other way.
Shouldn't "Edge" connectivity be good enough for a last message to TDWTF's community before you jump?
Looking at the e-peen (i.e. number of liked posts), perhaps it would be unwise to move away from Discourse...
Inaugural usage of new bathroom?
Inaugural usage of new bathroom?
Well, there's that and there's also the fact that it's been so humid and it's all been so itchy so I'm letting the skin breathe.
Getting prepped for yet another conference call.
Reaction from family afterwards: "Who are you and what have you been doing in our bathroom? You are not one of the plumbers, we know them all by now!!"
-
Actually, the family weren't fussed by the number of people on Facebook that were 'you did WHAT?' and similar reactions, that was funny.
Also, more than one person in this household has come down with a stomach bug, we think the plumber did more than just fit the things, if you know what I mean.
It is advisable in such cases to waste a little water and let all the faucets/taps run for half an hour or so, before frist usage.
Yeah. I even did this when moving into my brand-new house.
That's not what I meant. One of the plumbers was supposed to be at home resting to clear a stomach bug but was fitting the bathroom, meaning we've probably shared his germs.
Current status: trying to convince user that
@
isn't the correct email address that they're trying to send email to.
-
Why bother?
-
The ticket is assigned to me. I think it's an issue with the ticketing system swallowing what the email address actually is.
-
That makes sense.
-
Turns out that they're trying to blow the system up. Makes sense now.
-
I hate users who do that sort of thing.
Yeah. I even did this when moving into my brand-new house.
I hope I remember to do that in a couple of month when I move into mine...
I'm still waiting for a chance to use my new gmail.com@faoileag.de email address on some poor, unsuspecting helldesk contact...
Can't you direct their interest in blowing systems up to some Discourse forum or other?
Why? It takes zero effort to do that.
"Why not?"
"That's your job."
Nah, just people who aren't tech-saavy. We do large data imports all the time (just finished one for the same user), but then they asked to import a trivial amount of data.
Status: put the latest instalment of the adventures of Cthulu and The President's Daugher online here.
Yes, but we do it here. Jeff sort of has accepted that here is a special place. I meant some other Discourse forums where perhaps then the forum admins would spam meta.d with bug reports.
-
Status: hitting bed now. Wanted to do that already two hours ago. I blame the different time zones. Oh, and Discourse.
