Somebody on 4chins posted that GTA6 is going to be $150. I did no research into whether or not that was true because it's not Nintendo so I don't care. Instead, I read a thread full of underage idiots making up how much games cost in the past. They probably don't even know what SNES is short for, let alone what anything actually cost.
Edit: It still blows my mind that they managed to cram a playable Street Fighter Alpha 2 into a SuperNES cartridge.
-
@Zenith Super Family Computer, obviously.

You do realize a SNES cartridge can fit up to a full 14.7 MB of data, right? (Although the two largest games was just 6 MB, and neither of them were SF2A so that was smaller. (I did look it up and it is one of two games (the other being one of the 6 MB games) to use the S-DD1 chip for graphics data decompression.))

Cabin damn, that's a low rating for what I'd assume is a text message App.
-
@Atazhaia It has less to do with the size of the cartridge and more to do with the game they ported. Usually, when they backport a game, the result has some obvious shortcuts. When the 16-bit TMNT became the 8-bit TMNT 2: The Arcade Game on the NES, all of the sprites were flattened. When 16-bit Mortal Kombat 2 landed on the 8-bit GameBoy, it lost half the characters/stages/moves. And so on. The only real hiccup that I noticed when a 32-bit SFA2 made it to the 16-bit SNES was that the game was too slow on standard and had to be set on turbo mode to feel like a normal speed.

Status: Is Batman: Arkham Asylum worth $60 if you never (heavily) played it before?
Apparently the Switch port of the trilogy is only going to have Asylum on the cartridge, with City and Knight being downloads. Needless to say, I hate this (because the Switch has a cellphone battery and the limited lifespan thereof). But I remember Asylum being good and I got lost quickly in City from what little I played them on X360.
Guess I should just wait for it to get discounted. Do they even do that anymore?

@dcon I've never seen it ask for parenthesis around !, and around == it's actively harmful since the extra parenthesis there signal it's actually an assignment.

It's SonarQube and how we have it configured. (Have to pass SQ code coverage and code smell tests before we can push a PR)
-
@dcon Ah, I misread. I thought you were talking about gcc, which does ask for parenthesis around && inside || but I've never seen ask for the others.

@Zenith I'm considering getting Red Dead Redemption on Switch. I've played the shit out of the PS3 version, and it may be my favourite game from that generation. Now it's out on Switch, and the only reason I haven't got it yet is because the physical version (at least the Canadian one) only releases in October, and I'll either buy it In Real Life™, or perhaps come to my senses by then and not re-buy a game I already have

I think so. I liked its story the best of the four, with City having the best gameplay. Knight is closer to City, but changes the controller commands due to the Bat-Tank. I purchased all of them at release on the PC.
Asylum has things to find and collect but the story is very linear, so there's always a fairly simple "this is where you go next". City is much more open between the main story, many side stories, and the Riddler challenges. Knight is like City but with mandatory Batmobile sequences.
I recommend finishing the first two and the third one if you liked the second. You don't have to complete all the combat and stealth challenges, but I would recommend capturing Riddler despite it being a little tedious tracking down all the s.
I don't know if they tweaked this for the Switch release, but Asylum's combat timing is different from the other three. For me this shows with enemy attacks: City Batman is fast enough to hit an enemy out of an attack warning where Asylum Batman is not, given the same timing. I have to go a bit slower/be more patient/block more in Asylum.
Guess I should just wait for it to get discounted. Do they even do that anymore?
No idea for the Switch. I bought a lot of games for the GB/GBA/DS new on sale or used from the game stores. Presumably anything that comes out with actual physical releases will eventually need to be cleared out from stores and thus might go on sale.

I have the feeling that me and most critics are very different people. I wonder if they ever got to Gutts, Kalameet and Manus.
Funnily enough its the Taurus Demon and Capra Demon have caught me out the most.
The Taurus Demon is one of the Bosses found in Dark Souls. This optional boss is located in the Undead Burg.

So I exported my breakout game Aranoid to web format for testing on Itch.io (no, it's not public yet, because it has some glaring omissions)
But I was a bit surprised to find all new bugs that I didn't anticipate over and above 'Arantor is a dipshit who can't correctly multiply two numbers by 3 for the size on the webpage', like the mouse control weirdly drifts to the right when the mouse isn't being touched.
Good times.
Also it's a 27MB download which is kind of tragic given that the sum total of my source + assets is 800KB... need to slim down Godot's export I feel.
