It's in my catalog!
Also a disc containing several iterations of Microsoft's Disk Operating System. And much much more!
-
If you find a Windows 7 DVD, make sure to ship it back to @Zenith.
-
@Zerosquare I found my Win7 DVD during the house move. I miss Win7.

I don't. Win 11 for the errr... win.
-
@loopback0 what does Win11 do that Win7 doesn’t? Genuinely curious here.
-
Plenty.
New bugs in every update, advertising, etc.
-
@Arantor You can install the latest version of Visual Studio, the latest versions of .Net, Teams will work from current Chrome,
and more important: you get ads shown on live tiles and the lock screen.
That's for sure a must have

It looks better, it runs better, Remote Desktop supports retina displays and generally works better, the Terminal sucks significantly less, it gets security updates, you can install current versions of the various things that don't support 7 anymore, it has much better multi-display support.
I know this isn't everyone's experience of 11 but I find it significantly less annoying to use than I found 7.edit: yes, a lot of those improvements came in 10 but they're still in 11. For mostly similar reasons Server 2016+ is less annoying to use than Server 2008 R2.

He doesn't need the disk, he needs the key. Which for some reason is not stored on the computer as-is or is otherwise inaccessible.

I got them with the house. Fancy wooden ones.
My new house has some fancy blinds. Instead of controlling the height by pulling strings like some caveman, there's a button on the base that lets you position it at whatever height.

I was going to DIY that on my window. Sadly, ran out of project time so it's been shelved pending machining parts.

I can think of no one from whom that would be a more alarming statement. Also, .

When I last installed it, a decade ago now, I don't recall it asking for a key. When I ran some sort of deep system diagnostic, I only got back a partial serial key (5 out of 25).
I have an ISO or two purporting to be Windows 7 Enterprise and pulled a "default serial key" out of the registry. Maybe burning a CD/DVD and swapping out the last fifth of that default serial will work, who knows.
Still need to find my Office 2000 CD too I think. I can't believe I needed to keep track of four whole CDs and two are missing. Windows, SQL, Office, VSS. VS was in a fancy plastic box so it was easier to keep track of.

@Zenith said in The Official Status Thread:

Definitely not. Unless you state it here and I can see it's a public key.

I’m not exactly a fan of Java. But compared to the other stuff you’ve done so far…?
At least they actually pay, right?

@Zenith There's probably a digital certificate embedded in the BIOS (as an ACPI table, strangely enough) and the product key is probably of the "Look over there!" variety.

Easy way to test: Spare drive, clean install, see if it says it's already activated after OOBE. @Zenith

Gotta keep the joints limber and exercised. Otherwise what happened to the drive it replaced will happen and you'll end up with a seized drive...

Beat Saber is a VR game as if fruit ninja and dance dance revolution had a legitimate child. The basic idea is that you use light saber swords to slice incoming boxes in rhythm to a song.
My assumption is that you should be able to swing said sabers in order to accomplish this. This is, apparently, not always the case, and creative memorized movement is required for the higher difficulties.

Wasted of time trying to figure out if all my disk drives have suddenly gone bad. Instead it looks like the front USB ports are somehow fucked. What's more, everything involved, including Windows itself, doesn't freeze or throw any errors, it just stops giving a damn.
Yeah, speed's exactly 0 bytes for 15 minutes now, it's going to take 583 years and counting (up), I don't see anything wrong here whatsoever.
Now to find where the curious chirping noise comes from. It's not the spinning rust. Power supply suspected. Appeasing of machine spirits in progress...

Totally valid CoA for Windows 7 Home (possibly premium but likely not), but can't read the fucking label to reactivate it, and apparently it was last offline before Microsoft started digitally migrating licenses according to hardware fingerprint...
