Isn’t that a fairly-close-to-100% descriptor (except for people outside doing “work”)?

I’ve been in a meeting for almost an hour now. The dev team involved, American home grown team, is swearing black is blue their changes didn’t break anything and it must be an existing issue. QA rolled back to a previous release without their changes. Problem gone. They still can’t join the dots and are accusing QA of witchcraft. How does that side of the company even function. Its the same shit all the time.
They basically hacked in changes to a shared library and didn’t test it. If they admitted it and read the QA jiras they could have fixed the issues last week and not compromised a release.

I’m not getting involved in this mess unless ordered. Even I’m not dumb enough stick my head above the parapet here.

This is a group of people by your admission that does the same thing over and over while somehow expecting different results. What gives you the belief they would be capable of joining the dots to draw the big arrow that points at them?

Misguided belief that they’ll see sense or at least be fired. There’s a weird thing going on where they take projects off us for the in-house team, they fuck up and then we charge extra to fix it.
They’re trying to scale us back but we’re so embedded and their turnover is so bad they can’t/won’t build up the knowledge to replace us any time soon.
Realistically they would have to start nuking the code base from orbit and start afresh to drag the codebase into the 2010s. At least then they would be able to find people who have heard of the libraries.

I knocked my glasses off my head and they fell out the window onto the flat roof. Too fat to squeeze out the window so I had to go out the back and after a lot of huffing and puffing I managed to scramble up onto the roof and claim my prize. I then tried to come in the window and managed to squeeze in but fell into an indignant mess.

You are moving towards the correct direction, but you are still far away from my today's 111/68.
By the way, blood pressure does not depend on salt consumption for many people of european ancestry (do not know for other ancestries), though there is still a large minority with salt dependent blood pressure among them.Btw, if does not prevent you, you may try to read up

Yeah, my body chemistry is annoying in that all the tests look mostly great.
Still, kidney specialist person said to eliminate all possible sources of salt from my diet. We'll see how far that doesn't throw me...
