I ended up not getting a ton of stuff done because I had to go to three increasingly distant stores (two local and a Lowes).
buy new toilet seat/cover (can't very well do after 10PM)- finish cleaning/reorganizing the rest of the bathroom
Yeah, about that. I bought a new toilet seat but they (same company) somehow managed to fuck up the attachment mechanism so I don't like it. Of course, this was all concealed until it was opened so I'm stuck with it for now. I also needed a mat or tray for inside the sink cabinet that supposed to help with leaks, which nobody had and I should've bought online if I had any brains. But I did get one of those shelving units that sits over the back of the toilet to put towels and stuff on so maybe I can approximate "finished."
buy paint rollers to start rewaterproofing the basement floor and walls later this yearclean out the Jeep (sometimes people can be forgiven for thinking I live in it for how much stuff piles up)- set up more air fresheners
- get some measurements for shelf riser in the dining room...I need these shelves to it over the baseboard heaters...then I can get some stuff off the floor
Had to pick up a new shop vac at Lowers because of how badly the basement floor paint was flaking. I got sidetracked by the time I was at Lowes into looking at kitchen sink faucets (one of my handles broke off so it's a pain turning water on and off at a valve underneath). What a lousy display. First they make you abundantly aware that that section in particular is under surveillance. Then they put everything 5ft up and higher so you can't really get a good look at most of them.
- move both dehumidifiers I bought last year to the basement
- change smoke alarm batteries
On the plus side, my cousin was over to mow the lawn so I'll take credit for that because I paid for it. While he was doing that, I was sweeping up accumulated tree debris (five bags worth) and found a Corsair Survivor USB key that I'd lost years ago. I'm sure everybody would love to know if anything on it survived. So would I. But I was in a rush and threw it in the jeep and it disappeared in there. Maybe tomorrow.

@Zenith If I remember right, Homer Simpson's car was made in Guatemala. I think that's where my bathroom sink cabinets came from too. Apparently, at some point, the home furnishing industry decided the official depth of these things is supposed to be 22 freedom units. Thus, to cut corners, the people that built this place sourced some with a depth of only 19 freedom units. So of course nothing fits.

I have a grocery/drugstore loyalty card, and quietly accrue points as I do my normal shopping. Aside from normal drugstore stuff, they also sell electronics, so every few years when I accumulate enough points, I wait for a 3X points redemption event (even better if they also have a bonus point collection promo at the same time, which has happened once) and pick up something, usually a game console, at a great discount

As well as still complaining about how even more terribly things work on Windows 7 with ancient Firefox and 4GB of RAM.

It'd be nice to have been notified that they received it
Just got the email stating that they received my PC at their facility. Almost immediately after, also got the email stating that the repair for the RMA has been completed and they're prepping to ship back.
Looking on their site, for the RMA status:
- June 19 @ 10:21AM PST: New mobo installed, video card is also defective.
- June 20 @ 11:40AM PST: New video card installed and system appears stable with no crashes, errors, or blue screens. Due to new mobo, need to activate with a new Windows key (key provided, if it doesn't work contact CS). Video card will be shipped uninstalled.
- June 20 @ 1:35PM PST: RMA received at facility.
- June 20 @ 1:36PM PST: Final testing completed and system being prepped for shipment.
So, given the previous RMA, I most likely will see it "shipping" before the end of the week, but possibly not actually shipping until next week, and it'll take about a week to arrive once it actually ships.

ancient Firefox
It's less than 30 version back, so that's, what, about 9 months old?
The software industry has an interesting definition of ancient. My niece just turned software ancient. She has seen 13 episodes of Elmo's World, 7 colors of mush in tiny glass jars, and is just starting to walk. My grandmother was real world ancient. She saw the Great Depression, a world war, automobiles, the invention of television, the moon landing, the rise and fall of labor unions, real racism, casual airline travel, the internet, ATMs, virtual eradication of dozens of commonplace diseases, mapping the human genome, genetically modified crops, smartphones, nuclear weapons, shopping malls, the cold war, an international space station...damn this'd sound like a Billy Joel song if I had any rhythm or rhyming ability....

The current Release version of Firefox is 114. Version 84 was released on December 15th, 2020. 30 months ago.
FWIW, the next version (115) is the last one slated to support Windows 7, 8, and 8.1, on the off chance you feel like updating at some point.

Status: Hit a minor IDE bug (when a
sealed
class has a permitted subclass with type parameters, the IDE was claiming they were needed in thepermits
clause whereas the compiler and language spec disagreed strongly; I'm with the compiler there, a type constraint makes no sense at all there). Not a huge problem, just means I've got a warning I can't eliminate for now, but I had a look at the bug and saw that it had been fixed. I wondered why I wasn't seeing the fix.. and it was because the fix was done this very morning after languishing untackled for a few years. I can live with that.
