I'm not interested in being more bored than I already am!
-
Status: this pill is supposed to help me be sleepy. It has failed.
-
@Gąska There's a thread for Wordle, just in case you didn't know.
@Gribnit sensibly (!) created one.

Status: Back at work after my date with Corona-chan. Cough is persistent, but otherwise fine-ish. Also hurt my middle finger building a computer yesterday, and the bandaid is interfering with two-finger scrolling as I cut the tip of the finger.

STATUS
I've spent two hours looking at this design document and I still can't make sense of it.

Turn it the right way round, for a start. And stop slouching.

Status: Read two Reddit posts about Super Bowl today. I guess it must be happening somewhere this month?

Yesterday luckily.
Whoever wrote this is my soulmate.

It's more effective and, as you've learned, safer, to swear at it verbally

Give it to @Tsaukpaetra. Either he'll understand it, or that will put him to sleep. In either case, someone wins.

I swear by rapidly cycling mains power.

Moose spotted on lake!

@Tsaukpaetra they swim, too. And they're a finite distance away from you. And sometimes, just sometimes, they eat walnuts.

Can liquid cooling a lake make it solid?
-
@Gąska said in The Official Status Thread:
Can liquid cooling a lake make it solid?
Can liquid cooling an Ice Lake keep it from melting?
-
@Gąska yes, that's the vast majority of how that is in fact done, actually. Hardly any air-cooling actually happens, when you get down to brass molecules.
Hmm. Can a lake be frozen with solely air-cooling and no convective transfer? Accepting outcomes where, for reasons, all the water you started with is solid, wherever it is. Any remaining in or particularly near the lake is bonus points.

Sounds like they're using
4:33
without license, then. You should request an RMA form and send them back an envelope full of sand (preferably lead powder), repeatedly. This won't help the hold music but relieves stress wonderfully.
-
Would you like an a capella rendition of the timeless classic known as "Your Call Is Important to Us, Please Hold the Line"?
-
@Zerosquare Nope thread is

Status2: Looking for the nearby monkey's paw -- after I finally got the tier 1 agent to transfer me to the business sales queue, I'm now sitting with the business queue's MOH... which interrupts the music loop almost immediately after the apex to have a lady's voice flatly and hurriedly intone "ThankyouforcallingComcastBusiness. Allagentsarecurrentlyassistingothercallersbutwillbewithyoushortly. ThankyouforcallingComcastBusiness."
It's like, (A) make sure your cut in is decent and well-spoken, (B) don't restart the music loop after each cut in, (C) don't cut in every 65 seconds unless your average hold time is like 2 minutes tops.

Status: Eyes are malfunctioning. Everything is flashing! Kinda annoying actually. A bit hard to read, but luckily I don't need that in order to type!

@Zerosquare, it looks like it's time for the reboot, brainstorming or not.

Let it ride a minute. Maybe he'll reach a stable regime. Or blow up. Either way, more science.
-
@Zerosquare I'm rather partial to the hyperaccelerated "Minute Waltz" one runs into from time to time, it seems to be a long-overdue fix. Tempo doesn't seem quite there, if I remember from the first fun I ever had with a MIDI file.

Status: Friends asked me to go see “Moonfall” in the cinema. Ewww. Or as Stewie would say: most certainly not.
Luckily, there’s a new 10 minute kurzgesagt video on YouTube covering this scenario, and it’s more interesting too.

I hope I won't have to reinstall the video driver. The 5.25" diskette it came on may no longer be readable...

Hanging it on the refrigerator with a magnet was probably not a good idea...

Status: Going through old mail. Found an uncashed $600 check. Cha-ching!

@Gąska Hopefully not too old, or they'll take it back out and charge you an additional fee for the convenience
-
@hungrier convenience of getting more dead trees in my mailbox that could get easily lost in all the other spam they send (and almost did in fact), when it could be a simple wire transfer?
-
@Gąska No the convenience of taking away your money. Old cheques go bad, you know? They're dangerous

Looking for binders on Amazon - all are crap with fake pictures and fake description.
Looking for binders recommendations on Reddit to buy from Amazon - it's all just some transgender shit.
I give up. Going to Target tomorrow.

Office furniture has gender now? I really feel out-of-the-loop.
Yeah, I didn't know the other meaning of "binder".
-
@Zerosquare I don't know what this other meaning is, but I'm too uninterested at this point to ask.

@Gribnit said in The Official Status Thread:

Air cooling is convective transfer. But apart from that, it'd require an extremely shallow lake. So… theoretically yes, even if practically no.
