STATUS I'm beginning to wonder if @HardwareGeek is banging the dhl guy at this stage. It would explain why he keeps ordering shit with them despite it getting lost on the way all the time.
My current workplace does internation work from home!

dhl ... keeps ordering shit with them
Of all the stuff I've ordered, I think only one was shipped via DHL. Almost everything is FedEx or USPS, occasionally UPS. And the seller typically doesn't offer a choice of carrier. They may offer a choice between free shipping, cheap shipping, and/or fast shipping (which often isn't actually faster than a cheaper method), but only rarely do they offer any more specific options, like which carrier to use. I don't usually find out which carrier they picked until I get tracking info (if I get tracking info).

Now I just think you're luring them in for company.

I personally will not.
I will. This dream means you should get your cock pierced under anaesthesia.

luring them in
As if. It's more like throw the package in the general direction of the house as they drive by.
Not really. They do put the packages on the front step, and then leave with no interaction at all. Even the computer that required a signature, I think the driver would have left without the signature if I hadn't opened the door as he was walking away. But generally, even if I'm paying attention, they've generally driven away, or at least getting into the truck to drive away, by the time I get to the door. At least once, I got the door open in time to give the drive a friendly thank-you wave, but usually they're focused on where they're going next, not looking back at the house they're walking away from. In fact, sometimes when I'm paying enough attention to get to the door in time to open it while the delivery person is still there, I'll deliberately wait to avoid interaction (other than a wave from a distance).
The only reasons I head for the door when I see a delivery person are 1) I'm eager to get whatever is in the package, and/or 2) to get the package before somebody else does.
As for luring someone inside, if I wanted to do that to anyone, it would have been the Doordash driver a few days ago. She was cute (and probably younger than my daughter ).

Status Done for the day. Spent the last hour+ trying to figure out why a set of SQL works just fine when run via the command line, but fails with a syntax error when run as part of a Liquibase rollback statement (which I've verified is trying to run that exact piece of SQL, symbol for symbol.
Decided to try to put up a sandbox environment to see if there's something weird with my local tooling. First attempt failed--the DHCP decided to assign two EC2 instances the same IP address. Of course this burned 15 minutes, since it didn't exactly notify me of that failure. Second attempt failed...but succeeded, leaving things in an inconsistent state. While trying to tear down that stack, my computer crashed with a kernel panic.
I think that's a sign that no more work can be expected of me today.
Oh, and in news, I was supposed to have a delivery (UPS) today. Got a notification "delivery failed". Did they ring the doorbell? If they did, I didn't hear it. Gonna go pick it up from the depot tonight, easier than waiting until Monday for them to fail delivering it again. Oh, and I need to check if the doorbell actually works.
Sigh...

Status: Exhausted. Also, people who write recipes are liars. I just spent 2.75 hours fixing a dish that says it has a prep time of 15 minutes.

502 ΟΚ
Yeah. Our tool reported that it had failed...but the AWS console said it succeeded. But that left it in a state where the rest of the process (including firing off Jenkins jobs) didn't happen.

Finally finished the last eva movie. It was about two and a half hours of incoherent rubbish. The matrix analogy proved apt. Some things should never leave the cutting room floor. I can't wait for the roboot of the rebuild in about a decade. It was very pretty though.

Do people actually do that?I used to have a small portfolio of projects online but it just gives them more opportunities to reject you so I stopped sharing it.
These places should just cut to the chase and post their style dictates and sample projects so candidates can be good little robots and do everything exactly like they do without any independent thinking whatsoever.
Status: I spent way too much on organizational supplies this past week or two. I'm in for $300 in shelves and another $600 in storage totes (looking at $200 more). I should slow down but work is making me anxious about getting my house in order.

Do people actually do that?Yeah, some people code as a hobby rather than in anger or for a pay cheque. I've met a few but they're the exception rather than the rule. They tend to be magpies though and really shouldn't be left near professional codebases. Nice people though.
