Facebook is not the one who hacked my Facebook account, so the question is irrelevant.

Okay, so you are not aware of being a target of value to them. Good.

I have a terrible itch in my trackball, and haven't used a pointing device other than touchpad or joystick in like 2, 3 years, and don't own a trackball.

Seems that after power outage, someone fuckered with the network cables and plugged a network switch into the WAN side of the firewall. Yet they claim it was working for a time.

It depends on the ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.

Status: My Facebook account has apparently been hacked as of 7 hours ago. Fun.
It seems my SMS messages (on actual phone, since my normal VoIP number is usually denied access to such things for raisins) are being intercepted. Or that Facebook has insufficiently random code generation.
Whatever the case, they successfully added a OTP-whatever to the account, and now I need to send in government ID to verify my account. Which will be interesting because I don't use my full name online for almost anything.
We'll see what happens when they get back to me in a few weeks...

Status: Trying to write a simple bot to automatically make videos public on YouTube on a schedule, because the built-in YouTube scheduler forces them private (I want them to remain "unlisted", not private).
Apparently, in order to update videos through the API, you need to re-submit the entirety of the metadata for that video (i.e. can't just say "Set Status: Public").
What the shit.
So, I have to download all of a video's metadata and modify a piece of it, and then update it all. Why?
I'm pretty fucking sure the YouTube website doesn't do this...
Fucking lazy devs. Lets just have one large put and hope for the best. Two months later they start asking questions like why is the kitchen sink here. Because of your lack of design numbnuts.

Status: Arcade1up out of control, inflation out of control, or both?
I passed on the TMNT arcade game at $350. Had I known it also included Turtles in Time, I would've bought it. Apparently, they decided to do the reverse, a Turtles in Time cabinet that includes TMNT Arcade...at $650.
Now the Konami X-Men game (plus some crappy Data East Marvel games nobody asked for) is up for preorder and they want $700.
I know that $700 is way less than an actual cabinet would've cost back in the day but it's still a big investment for one game. Why can't I just buy these old games on the Switch for $50?
-

Status Macs just work, right?
Except I've had more kernel panics on my MacbookPro over the last year than I have had blue screens (or other total system crashes) in Windows 10 across two PCs, including one that's frankensteined. After "upgrading" to Big Sur, it now has a hard kernel panic if it goes to sleep for more than about 5 minutes.
And then there's XCode. 'Nuff said.

Yeah. And everything I found said that Catalina had that issue. And it was supposedly fixed. Something with external displays (I have it connected to two via KVM). I'm going to try unplugging the displays before putting it to sleep, see if that does it. Kinda moots the point of a KVM switch, but there are already issues with that (namely that one monitor doesn't like the connection so I have to swap it manually, and the keyboard has two USB ports (one passthrough) and doesn't like the switch at all...

Or… could it be the KVM switch causing the problem?
I've had problems with connecting many monitors in the past, which I put down mainly to heat dissipation. As part of a clue to that, things would work for much longer without problems in the winter than in the summer. (My current machine hasn't had extensive testing that way because of the covidocalypse.)

Maybe. I'm considering, once I move into my new place, having two separate desks/keyboards/monitor setups, one for work and one for my personal machines. The KVM isn't really saving me much effort at this point, and I'm not even trying to hot-swap. I only swap in the evening once I'm done with work and then in the morning (back to work config). Currently, that involves unplugging the 3 usb and one HDMI from one machine (or the dock, since macs only have USB C, and I need a network cable as well) and switching them, plus the one HDMI that actually behaves with the switch.

Fans spin up to 100% for a second, then it restarts (or shuts down if it was in sleep). You then get the "Your mac was restarted due to a problem" popup.
I've had electron cause spinlock acquisition failures (something that even it should not be able to do), but currently it's a watchdog process that loses communication with the window manager and panics.
Edit: and no, @Tsaukpaetra is, to the best of my knowledge, no where near me.

@Zenith Sad. Once the direct preorders sold out, the link to retail partners replaced it. It's $100 cheaper...but exclusive to Target. Target loves to cancel preorders on me, claiming they've sent a notification e-mail where I need to approve a delay (even though it's not a delay). Except they don't, or it comes at 2AM with a 3AM response deadline, or the mobile site doesn't actually have an Approve button anywhere. So while I placed an order due to FOMO, it's unlikely that I'll have to pay for it...
