resin (should arrive — in theory — by Wednesday)
I sure hope my resin actually shipped, because their website now says resin (all kinds/colors, apparently) is out of stock in the US until the middle of next month. :(
According to FedEx, it's in El Paso and should be here tomorrow, which is good, because I'm basically out of the sample that came with the printer.

Status: Had one week off, back to work now. Meanwhile, I had two missed calls (i.e. I intentionally didn't pick up) from what I assume are external project partners. Check my inbox: nothing.
Do you expect me to call back and ask what you wanted? Write. A fucking. Email!
That would also give you an out-of-office reply telling you when I'm back.God damn it. I should start telling people I'm deaf.

They won't listen.

Which means it will be delivered today. Or in 5 days. But certainly not tomorrow.
-
@Zerosquare It was after midnight when I wrote that, so I actually meant today. And the latest tracking update is that about an hour after I posted that, it was about 2.6 hours away. Of course, it still has to be sorted and put on a local truck for delivery, but there's a very high likelihood that it will, in fact, be delivered today. That's ok, though, because it was originally scheduled to get here by Wednesday, so the distortion field is still in effect. Also, grocery delivery at 07:55 is not between 08:00 and 09:00.
Even more annoying, Walmart put a limit of one US quart bottle of isopropyl alcohol. I really wanted to get a gallon (4 bottles) or so for washing 3D prints, but grumble grumble I'll buy a bottle at a time every time I buy groceries. But no, they couldn't even deliver that; they're completely out of stock (or so they claim; their online ordering is really flaky and inconsistent as far as what I can order online vs what is in stock at the store vs what is "unavailable for curbside").
-
Now that I no longer feel ruled by anxiety, I'm finally reaching out to people I used to be close to.
That's going better than expected.

Status: The job market must be pretty good. In addition to the usual steady onslaught of recruiters trying to interest me in jobs I don't want in places I don't want to live for (probably) less money than I'm currently getting (but at least they're in my field), I'm starting to get email from recruiters who are completely incapable of reading a resume and/or a job description and pairing them. In the last few days, I've gotten emails about, among other things, a validation engineer for injection molding and lead sonogram technician. (The former is at least somewhat understandable, the words "validation engineer" do appear on my resume, although in a completely different field. But the closest I've come to a sonogram technician was being the patient receiving the ultrasound exam.)

@HardwareGeek said in The Official Status Thread:

Is it used on the actual prints in resin printing? In FDM it's used to wipe down the print surface before printing, and based on how much I've used so far (a small percentage of what was left in an old half litre bottle I had lying around) it'll last forever.
-
@hungrier said in The Official Status Thread:

Yes, to remove the uncured liquid resin residue from the print (as well as cleaning the print surface, cleaning up spills, etc.). They actually recommend 95% ethanol, but that's somewhat more difficult to find and costs 3x the $ (and is completely illegal in California, because CARB are idiots).

: Fault injection, injection molding... that's the same thing, right?

@HardwareGeek What? No Full Stack Developer yet? (We see from your resume... Um, if you do, you don't know how to read!)

Is that those people who get paid, badly, to do 5 jobs, badly?
Maybe I should apply.

Probably, but not in the last few days. That I remember, anyway. One a few days ago had 4 completely irrelevant job listings. The lead sonogram technician is the only one of the 4 I remember, and it looks like I deleted the email. Edit: I didn't really delete it, like I usually do, just moved it to the Trash folder. I was wrong; there were 4 other jobs besides the lead sonography technician: software administrator, senior network engineer, business development analyst, and principal software engineer. No full-stack developer.

Ha. I can do more than 5 jobs, even more badly.

@HardwareGeek I just had some confusing calls from recruiters too. This one said his manager was going to call me and then didn't. Then he called and asked what the manager discussed with me. Apparently, for a job where I said I had no "official" .NET Core experience, they wanted more details of .NET Core (and some other stuff) on my resume. But he sounded really confused, like I sound when I'm having ITIL words barked at me, like he was in over his head too.
I don't like to put effort into shopping my resume around anymore because it's all bullshit. When my resume said exactly what I did, everybody moaned it was "too technical" and "too task-oriented." So I put in garbage like "optimized microservices/Entity/ITIL to deliver end-to-end five nines excellence to stakeholders" and now they want details.
I really don't care about anything right now. I'll just pay my debts, get out from under inventory, sell my comic collection, and go off the fucking grid.

@HardwareGeek said in The Official Status Thread:

Maybe? The latest update, about 20 minutes ago, has it in some little town I never heard of about 2 hours the other side of me. Judging from the tracking info for this and a previous package, they seem to have a distribution center in or near Houston that everything goes through, even if Houston is several hours out of the way. Similar to how all their air freight (allegedly) goes through Memphis, even if both sender and recipient are on the west coast.

That's the problem. Never trust a Memphi.

Phrase "Standard Operating Procedure" and associated acronym just came back online after having been down for some months. I suspect one of the manatees had dragged the entire Ball down for refitting.
Although, could just be a hash function change, since SEP and SCP were shadowing it per the default hash.

Anybody want to place a bet on delivery status?
It's here!
Just kidding
The latest update puts in their distribution facility near Houston.
When will it get here?
No scheduled delivery date available at this time.

It's on a vehicle for delivery from the local facility (about a half-hour away), but still
No scheduled delivery date available at this time.
So, I guess it's going to take an unknown number of days to go the last <20 miles.
Go home, FedEx tracking; you're drunk.

Status: I have resin. From the tracking info and the label on the box, some of the confusion/delay may have been due to an apparent intent to have the package switch carriers (FedEx/USPS) between long-haul and last-mile delivery, but it wasn't suitably labeled/postage paid. Or something? Anyway, it's here (one day ahead of original esitmate, one day behind original tracking info, so delivery distortion field is in full effect).
One more package in transit, spare FEP film, but that's not urgent. As long as it doesn't go missing, I don't particularly care when it gets here. Also, I want to order some other colors of resin, but I know I won't get those until the middle of next month, at the earliest, because they're out of stock.

Well, she does fuck all on the job...
