@HardwareGeek yeah, exactly.

Gotta support Polish youtubers?
(I think I've seen that video too)

@PleegWat I'm pretty sure he wasn't Polish. Apparently there's plenty of videos of Luxembourg campaign, done by many crazy people.
There's an achievement for developing rocket technology as Poland. Guess what it's called.

That's not nearly as funny. In my opinion.

The reason why Polandball "cannot into space" is because his flag is up-side-down.
Maybe it’s because they’re, you know, balls but I never realized that the Polandball is wrong.

I self-host a private server, and I've thought a few times of inviting TDWTF to it. The problem is I hardly play and I'm not good at keeping it updated and such.

Yeah, that's the problem with mine. Technically I think it's probably still running, but if you connect you'll get a good ol' "Outdated!" message.

If I pay for premium-tier Minecraft hosting, this post if you'd try playing on our server.

@error I tried getting back into Minecraft a couple weeks ago, which lasted for a couple plays and now I guess I got it out of my system

@Zenith
Also having the bizarre phone battery issue again. Shuts off in the 60s or 70s and then claims it's really at 0 when the charger is plugged in. Online is suggesting that means it's not "calibrated." I've been through two or three batteries since the original and I can count on a clumsy shop teacher's hand how many times I've seen it run down to single digits outside of that original battery (and none of them have lasted even half as long as that original before problems started).So I tried one set of instructions that didn't help. Charge it up, plus 1 hour, run it to shut off, charge it up, should be fixed. Nope. That was posted a year ago and some of the comments complained it was for older batteries they don't make anymore. But my phone is ancient by hipster standards of blowing a mortgage payment every 6 months on new shiny bendable glass crap with no ports so it's not clear why it didn't work.
I spent awhile just trying to find a battery for this thing. I thought maybe I got pretend OEM goods before so I went directly to Samsung this time. Their website is completely unusable on a smartphone. Yeah, mine's old, but the screen is pretty big and Chrome is current so there's no excuse. I spent some more time looking for a similar replacement phone. The Galaxy XCover 4S looks like a Galaxy Active, except with worse specs than an old S4 from 5 years ago and limited support of US frequencies. The Galaxy XCover FieldPro is for the US market but has weird stuff like a Pogo Pin charger I haven't seen on anything but my 8 year old Motorola Xoom tablet. Not a whole lot of choices from other manufacturers. It's like bevel, battery, buttons - pick two at most.
So now I'm trying a second set of instructions that's more explicit and has a couple more steps. First step is to run the phone down. Well, I've been browsing with Clover instead of Chrome. And it's made it all the way down to 31 so far. It seemed to drop from 48 to 31 pretty quickly while I was away typing this (72 to 48 was active use over an hour) but still I'm surprised it's gone so low. But I'm really wondering if it's Chrome to blame. I had been looking at the JC Penney website lately and it's been giving the desktop PC fits with locking up 800MB+ of RAM, freezing randomly, and selectively loading pictures. I'm kinda hoping if I follow through on these instructions it'll resolve WTF is wrong again because I don't want to keep buying batteries every 9-10 months. Afterall that's why I didn't surrender to a sealed smartphone in the first place.
Edit: Meanwhile, I bought an Galaxy Tab Active2 back in February for the business. Four times the screen size, twice the processing power, and the battery is barely 70% more mAh. Yet I can use that damned thing for a couple of days before it runs low. I've rarely gotten a day out of a phone idling with the screen off!
Edit: Shit, the phone just jumped from 20 to 11, all while sitting on an idle IM screen...it's like every other cell in the battery is missing or something.

Yeah that hasn't been a thing for what, a decade? Unless it's a dumb battery (eg no circuitry other than the wires touching the metal plates) there's no need to do that rigamaroll.
Most likely you got shot batteries that lie about their capacity or the battery is worn down so the capacity is shit (effectively the same thing really).

It's my fault. I traveled by motorcycle this weekend. Now the expected temperature for my scheduled return dropped by 25 or 30 degrees and I'm going to freeze my balls off going back home.

I remembered a bit late but got some flowers (potted, not throw-away) yesterday just in time.
What I actually had planned / bought long in advance is, like everything else, cancelled.

Status: Need to go grocery shopping. I tried yesterday, but there was a long line outside the store, because social distancing; nobody could go in until somebody came out. It probably would have taken a half-hour just to get inside, and I didn't need anything badly enough to waste that much time. Hopefully, it will be better today.

The warthog surprises me in this context. I would have thought it would be less effort (but more expensive) to buy a new one.

One of my bikes has the cat under the seat. When you're freezing your ass or balls off on that one, just go slow for a while and that will be sorted. It's not terribly nice in summer during commuting, but filtering is legal here.

Status: a woman randomly started talking to me when I went to the store to stick to on shampoo, I buy them in extra large bottles so I don't have to replace them so often. Me having an infallible skill to put foot in mouth cracked a bad joke about it being nice to have something big and sturdy to squeeze goo out of.
This got me a trip to a nearby coffeehouse, and when that was done, a wish from the lady to perhaps meet somewhere more private sometime in an undefined future.

At first I read that as a real cat (feline). And thought...

@Tsaukpaetra So the second attempt didn't work. I just ordered multiple replacement batteries this time. That order should last until I figure out what to do about a new phone.

Buying a new one would have meant:
- spending some time finding suitable models, reading reviews, comparing prices, etc.
- having no way of seeing before buying (because lockdown)
- having to wait for it to be delivered, with the risk of being damaged in transit or delayed for an unknown amount of time (because lockdown)
- spending money
On the other hand, I already had what was needed to repair the old one (my job is in electronics and firmware design), and not much to do at the moment (because lockdown). So it was the more -ly option.

There was a line again today, but less than half as long; it probably took only about 5 minutes to get in. The store is still enforcing mandatory masks to get in, but a lot of people are wearing them improperly (not covering either nose or mouth) once inside. Why even?
