Status: Finding my inner Karen
I'm looking to for a bike for my 7 yo. 20 in wheels and hand brakes. She's had hand brake with her first 2 wheeler when she was 5.
I see this bike:
https://www.bikeexchange.com/a/20-kids-bikes/specialized/ny/brooklyn/riprock-20/181915219
Perfect, even comes in pink.
Then I go to the seller's website that bike is 475 and one without speeds and hand brakes is 270.
I don't care about the speeds but the hand brakes are essential.
I contact them and they pretty much respond with what their website say and tells me to call the other store to see if they have the Coaster model in pink.
Bitch, did you not hear me when I said I needed hand brakes?
So this was said in my response:
If that's not available as advertised, it might be a good idea to update your listing on Bike Exchange. I'm sure I'm not the only potential buyer disappointed.
Thank you.
Concern TrollIn my defense, I did not ask to speak to his manager.
He responded.
Said he agreed and that they cannot update their listings (now, of course, I'm horrified that someone designed the site without allowing vendors to update them).
After apologizing for my Karen-y email I asked if he had something like I asked and closer to the $270 price. They do not.
Anyone know a place I can get a 20 in with handbrakes shipped to NYC?
I'd be ok if I have to p/u in NYC or the surrounding area.

I updootedI'll do it if we can get 2 more people on-board.
Why does it feel like I volunteered for a foursome?
Oh, is that what this was about?
BRB, ing.

Can you buy one without, and then add-on later?

Fuck it. I have too much spare time and too much money.
I'm setting up a server at tdwtf.mcraft.pro, prepaid for a year, with (based on demand) entirely too much power.

Ojai is the same place it's always been, in California, about 10 miles north (inland) of Ventura, at the junction of CA highways 33 and 150.
-
@Tsaukpaetra Hmm? Oh, I guess I've been to Scotland several years ago, why?

You've made it on my seldom-updated list of inactive persons.
-
@Tsaukpaetra Oy, no need to rub it in. Besides, we're all quarantined, it's not like there's that much space to exercise.

One needs merely approximately ten cubic feet or less. Though I wasn't necessarily talking physical inactivity.
-
@Tsaukpaetra Oh, well, there's your problem. I've only got two feet, and they're distinctly blobby.

Everyone must start somewhere. I personally let the younger bitch drag me around for half an hour while I try to resist.
I can't say it's done much, but it's something...
-
@Tsaukpaetra Well, obviously. I can't think of anything that isn't something.

The bake frame should have the necesessary mount points. Of course there are people who solder/weld additional mount points ...

Status: Wondering how long my Square account is going to work.
My comments on "how do you like our new forums (that's slower and has less features than AOL forums three decades ago)?" was to ask when they'd work on something important, like calculated shipping in the storefront, a real API decoupled from their randomly broken app, and support for browsers not called Chrome.
What the fuck is with idiots reinventing forum software in crappier and crappier forms? Do these people take their stupid pills with the Bonanza developers?

I know another forum you can ask that question on.

@HardwareGeek I bet I can guess which one.

Oh, and
"the developer who wrote the old one left, and we can't figure out their code, so it's easier to write a new one."

Battery Status: Yikes.
I guess I’m in for a new phone by the end of the year.

@topspin Is that an iPhone? That looks quite nice actually...

iPhone 6S from 2015 but the battery isn’t that old. It says 83% capacity, which, while already low-ish, should still be enough. But it seems to drain like there’s no tomorrow.

Finally found the hidden setting to disable my work laptop from locking after 2 minutes of inactivity.
The command to show the setting involved invoking
powercfg
from a terminal with a GUID argument. Discoverable.

That's why the triforce of wisdom is one big slice.
Filed under: The second slice is the triforce of power. The third, the triforce of courage.

Didn't anybody tell you that you shouldn't use Linux, because you always have to go to the CLI to configure even simple things?

Well, there's a GUI for it, too!
It's called
regedit
.

Somebody at Bonanza took an extra dose of stupid pills this morning.
"It sounds like you do not like using PayPal. We understand that not all sellers are willing to work with them. We do require all sellers to have PayPal connected to an account, there is both buyer and seller protection available. We also recently added Stripe for a payment processor as an alternative."
- doesn't tell me anything I don't already know
- asserts that seller protection exists
- implies that only PayPal provides it
- isn't even a sentence
Oops, since I replied...
@dcon Make sure to use more Angular with your Angular this time!

Turns out "there was internet service from our company previously at this address" means "the junction box has been ripped of the wall and we have to install a new one, we have no idea where this dangling cable goes or if it's any good to start with, we need to consult wiring maps in our office, we might get this done, but we're definitely not going to do this today".
Fucking 12-month contract.
Status: The next day I called them and they told me that they're absolutely, definitely going to do it by the end of the week. The day after that they called me to tell me that it turned out they can't do this after all. I mean, yeah, it happens. But if they've just SAID IT TWO MONTHS AGO WHEN I FIRST ASKED!!!
At least they're not making any problems terminating the contract. They even waived early termination fee! Now, to find another provider...

wait, a 12 month contract and they've been violating their end for 2 months and all they did was waive the early termination fee?
