Foxes don't have nine lives?
alas, no we do not
Seems like a major design flaw.
I know! i've been trying to call up the creators and get them to change that but i can never get a hold of them. they're eaitehr out of office, gone to lunch, or i get a busy tone....

Thank you!

Real Men Don't Eat Quiche
Real men eat any damn thing they please. "You got a problem with that?"
Real Programmers Don't Use Pascal
Real programmers can use any damn language to do any damn thing they please. Real programmers can program with butterflies, if needed.

-
[spoiler]spoiler test two[/spoiler]
-
Ah, so your mistake was trying to use the HTML part of DiscoHTMLBBMarkCode. Obviously, it's only BBCode for that
-
OK, i give up. Obviously, some time in the last 24 / 48 hours, I have been transported to a parallel reality where things work differently. I guess you could call it a sort of "lost weekend"
-
i am almost positive it worked the last time i tried to use them
edit after failing to find HTML spoiler example. Well either I was mistaken, or I am in a subtly different reality. And seeing as I am never wrong.....

Good idea: Neural network handwriting. http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~graves/handwriting.cgi

-
How have none of you tried
Damn. It does NOT like producing legible text of that.
-
-
Works better when you're not screaming.
I wasn't, whoever wrote it originally was. I just copypasta'd it out of a web search.
-
-
-
-
hmm....
it('should include only expected keys', () => {messages.internals.should.have.all.keys(expected);});
yep. that looks roughly like my handwrititng
(yeah, that thing does not handle punctuation well does it?)

It's much more legible than mine, OTOH.
Mine is something like:

(yeah, that thing does not handle punctuation well does it?)
I think it's a case of insufficient examples.
-
i'm also sad at the 100 character limit. i wanted to give it more than just the simplest of JS test case...
-
-
I don't think it even tried here...

Selecting a different priming handwriting sample worked a little better:

A combination of speech to text, machine translation, and text to speech that translates audio from one language to another while keeping the speaker's accent intact.
For use in things like this:

I harvested 184 posts from 26 donors and transplanted them in a new topic: Organ Donation

- are you necro-Jeffing?
- I saw you changing that line to make a lame pun right before I hit the quote button
- I'm lazy so all my lines start with 1
- Discourse!
-
are you necro-Jeffing?
It's an interesting Jeff effect. Note that it gets the 15 days later because it was posted just now. For full effect, there should then be a "12 DAYS EARLIER" banner right after it. But since we're discussing discourse now, maybe we should move to the stupid ideas that have actually been done thread?
-
-
I bet that took a long time.
Verifying which posts need to be moved is the bottleneck:
-
-
Hmm - does clicking on it open it properly?
-
interestingly..... yes.
but by the goddess that dithering!
-
'twas only a quick and dirty
ffmpeg -i vokoscreen-2015-07-31_14-09-41.avi vokoscreen-2015-07-31_14-09-41.gif
-
i suspect the default values for ffmpeg need a nupdate, besides why not use webm and get better compression and better quality?
-
Check the URLs. Discourse "optimized" it, I think.
-
better compression
$ ls -lart | anonymize | grep 14.09 -rw-rw-r-- 1 pjh pjh 2063008 Jul 31 14:09 vokoscreen-2015-07-31_14-09-41.avi -rw-rw-r-- 1 pjh pjh 267081 Jul 31 14:11 vokoscreen-2015-07-31_14-09-41.gif -rw-rw-r-- 1 pjh pjh 211204 Jul 31 14:51 vokoscreen-2015-07-31_14-09-41.webm
better quality
....OK - how do you embed a webm on here then...?
-
-
if it's whitelisted....
<video width="600" height="338" autoplay="" loop="" muted="muted"><source id="webmsource" src="//zippy.gfycat.com/AnxiousHospitableHousefly.webm" type="video/webm"></video>
(attempt above)
(attempt below)
hmm... not whitelisted thenhttp://zippy.gfycat.com/AnxiousHospitableHousefly.webm
well posting the webm link direct works in chrome....
-
-
Seems you just need to trim the cruft from the stuff created from the upload, prepend
https://what.thedailywtf.com
and leave it as the raw URL.
-
Do you need a reason beyond "because IE doesn't support it" ?
That sounds more like a positive than a negative...

That sounds more like a positive than a negative
Hey, if you don't mind fielding all the "Hey, this says 'Error: Unsupported video type or invalid file path', can you replace that video with one that works?" posts, who am I to object? Except for the part where I'd be making those posts.
