@Gustav um hmm. And this is representative? Um... hmmm.

While interesting, and indicative of a number of places where quite a few people think that Rust has gone a bit off the rails in its search for performance at all costs, it doesn't strike me as a nerdy joke...

Go up a meta and it totally pops.
However, I do take issue with the high proportion of merely dorky jokes in this topic - where the only math involved is
=
i.e. "It's a reference, laugh!". We need to gather them together into one place, that they may cry their lamentations unto their Zod.

@dkf maybe it's just me but I find
template<std::HasConstReference<std::Path> P> std::io::outcome<std::vector<uint8_t>> std::read(P path)
quite amusing. Imagine the length of error messages!

Designed for people who like to use extra small fonts on a 4K display.

@Mason_Wheeler isn't this basically how Frozen started? Except without moving away from home.

Ever notice that mass media produces parallel themes and/or artifacts via convergence? Incidentally, every 10th number ends in 3. Whoa. I mean, like, whoa.

Nope, it started with some song, iirc one meant to elevate a banal activity into a heroic struggle.

That's how you can tell it's a big number, yeah.

@Mason_Wheeler If anyone doesn't get the joke of this one (I didn't know this until my son explained it this morning):
Dating from 1800 BC, it's the oldest known customer complaint, and it's about a purchase of copper that turned out to be of inferior quality.
-
-
@Mason_Wheeler Suddenly that makes sense...

I especially like the legalistic strategy of not accepting the copper ingots. This shows that he had some confidence of getting his money back. If he had felt sure he would not get his money back, he would have accepted the inferior ingots anyway, because at least they were better than nothing.

Not exactly a joke, but...

Why is gravity so cheap?
It's mass-produced.

@Mason_Wheeler I feel like Ron is Printers in this scenario because it's always DNS... therefore the Chosen One should have that label.
