they don’t choose this
No, they just got low iron levels for some reason. I have more sympathy with the "lifestyle vampires"
I guess I have to hand in my liberal card for thinking someone doing something potentially dangerous should stop it

One does wonder if they practice safe sex.

>With such recognition, we do not attempt a definitive definition of either.
If you are not going to define what you mean, you might as well spout random words while baying at the moon. Frognobble squeegleflurk frognobble kilogroutworthiness.

Very tired, craving for other people's blood. My first thought would be anaemia.
... which is correlated with low vitamin D. Maybe they should go out in the sunlight?

Not being sexually interested in trans people isn't transphobia, though.

Yes, she is the "shoulder thing that goes up" woman.
To save others the effort:
[a shoulder thing that goes up is..] something a certain completely anti-2nd Amendment, anti-American, anti-Constitution Congresswoman McCarthy of New York made up.
In her blatent retarded bleeding-heart freedom hating liberal ignorance, when a certain TV host asked her what her so-called "assault weapon" ban support was for, and why it bans barrel shrouds..she wouldn't answer the question.
When he pressed her for an answer on WHAT a barrel shroud is, she said "I don't know, a shoulder thing that goes up".
Just proving that the morons that want to ban guns don't know a thing about them.
A barrel shroud is an cover around the barrel forward of the receiver - also called a hand gaurd. Simply keeps you from burning yourself if the gun is hot. Anti-gunner's think this feature makes a gun evil, dangerous, and a muderous "assault weapon".
Addendum:
In fact, voila. Here is the video:

you don't think so. I don't think so. But apparently trans people do, and their weird matters more because they're more oppressed than you and I. We get such wonderful new made up words too, like transmysogygy.

That video clip is someone infamous in the US gun community, along with the one where some Senator/Congressman or whatever was talking about a "fully-automatic 30-caliber magazine clip that fires over 600 shots per minute".
Also, excluding some of the first-generation Henry repeating rifles from the 1860's, pretty much any rifle has something that could be considered a "barrel shroud". So banning those would set us back to the Civil War era.

õ_Ô ?
I believe I detected a smidgen of hyperbole in the text I quoted.
Just a soupçon mind you..
-
"fully-automatic 30-caliber magazine clip that fires over 600 shots per minute".
I'm pretty sure it was a 30-magazine clip, actually.
Nope--30-caliber clip, that can "disburse" 30 bullets in half a second. HALF A SECOND. Oh, wait, first eh said 30-caliber clip, then he said "30-magazine clip in half a second".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJmFEv6BHM0He's actually off by, IIRC, a factor of 4-6.

The stupid, it burns! It's like @PJH's fake git manual generator, but for guns!

The stupid, it burns!
Anti-gun people are generally so afraid of guns they refuse to learn even the most basic terms.
Either that or they just don't trust people with them and refuse to be honest about it, thus endlessly proposing a series of gun control laws that won't actually stop criminals.
-
Either that or they just don't trust people with them and refuse to be honest about it
I always thought that was too obvious to hide.
-
Either that or they just don't trust people with them
That would seem to be the main reason behind wanting to ban anything that could be dangerous. Lets face it, most people are dicks
-
[citation needed]
I have no trouble believing it's just randoms on the internet trying to stick up for them, and that they don't care.
-
I always thought that was too obvious to hide.
Nope. People say "we need these "common-sense" gun "safety" laws" and someone points out that the last spree shooter wouldn't have been stopped by the proposal, and they just don't answer.
It's like the "gun show loophole". Anyone know what that is? Here, I'll tell you: it means if you, a private citizen, walks into a gun show holding an old revolver, and someone sees it and says "hey, I'll buy that off you for $200" or whatever, you don't have to do a background check on him. That's it. When you hear that gun dealers are selling guns at shows without doing background checks, that's a lie. Gun dealers are required to always do checks. Private citizens essentially never[1] are. In other words, the "gun show loophole" is simply that regular people don't magically have to require potential buyers to pass that check just because they want to sell a gun at a show. Dealers aren't gonna skip those checks, because they'll get caught and they'll do hard time.
[1] If you sold more than a couple of guns a year, the ATF might come sniffing around. Especially if one of them gets used in a crime.

Well, it was always obvious to me that they were lying. I guess it's possible that someone was really fooled by that.
-
There are liars and there are people who believe and think they agree with the lies. It's not always clear which one the gun grabbers are.

Many regular people, who don't understand how ridiculous "a ghost gun that can empty a 30-magazine clip in half a second" is believe the liars, because over the last 20 years they've learned to choose their words with care, just like Handgun Control Inc, morphed into The Brady Campaign To Stop Gun Violence or whatever it's called.

a ghost gun that can empty a 30-magazine clip in half a second
fucking bullets, how do they work?
I grew up watching Partnership for a Drug-Free America commercials, so I guess I've just had more practice getting lied to.

Meh! You don't need liars or politicians to tell you how stupid it's to allow every moron to own a gun, you just need to look at the data.

Recognizing that your post is in jest (at least partly), I still cannot pass up the opportunity to post the numbers for the third time in as many threads in two days:
@abarker said:
Legally owned guns appear[1] to be a strong deterrent to violent crime.
Since 2007, the number of concealed handgun permits has soared from 4.6 million to over 12.8 million …
The number of people that carry concealed handguns is likely even higher, since permits are not required in seven states. …
At the same time, murder rates have fallen from 5.6 to 4.2 per 100,000, about a 25 percent drop. Overall violent crime also fell by 25 percent[2]
[1] I say "appear" because there is only a correlative link.

The law of conservation of flamewars. The Git flamewar died down somewhat so it's only natural all that energy pops up for a different flamewar.

I guess I'm just surprised that it's so diffuse. I would expect either a single concentrated flamewar or several smaller flamewars on different topics. I didn't expect several smaller flamewars all on the same topic. It makes it difficult to keep track of each one.

Wait, did he somehow mistake the gun for a GAU-8/A?

Nah, the GAU-8/A's RPM is too high. He was probably thinking of the M134D, which has a variable rate of fire that nicely covers the "30 rounds in half a second."
-

Definitely. As a wise man once said, "An armed society is a polite society."
-
Apparently Comic-Con is worse that I thought...
-
Wait, did he somehow mistake the gun for a GAU-8/A?
No, he revels in his ignorance of the subject, like most gun-grabbers. (Or he's a liar. Or possibly both.) It's the same thing as Old Widow Shoulder-Thing-That-Goes-Up.
Then you get lovely gun grabbers like California State Senator Leland Yee, also a big gun grabber, but one who was secretly gunrunning for Filipinos: "Yee was arrested by the FBI on March 26, 2014 on charges related to public corruption and gun trafficking — specifically buying automatic firearms and shoulder-launched missiles from [MILF][1] attempting to re-sell those weapons to an undercover FBI agent,"
[1] No, really.

I am going out of my way to avoid even reading that, because whoever this guy is he has nothing to say I want to hear.

Meanwhile, in a German magazine ...
-
So that's what the shoulder things that go up are.
Just in case you don't actually know, the shoulder thing that goes up is actually this, which appears NOT to have a barrel shroud.
-
Care to elaborate? I don't have a translator on hand, and my very limited German says that the point of the article is "people get offended by silly flirting tips like 'play with strands of your hair', or 'rosy cheeks are sexy'".
-
Yeah.
The reaction it has caused on the internet and the silliness of the flirting tips are the potentially funniest things on the German part of the Internet this year.
-
...were those people born yesterday? I mean, back in the 90s/early 00s, when teen magazines were all the rage over here, they were nothing but silly flirting tips!

"Compares Comic-Con to genocide"
Just sayin' "Comic-Con is absolutely nothing like genocide" meets that requirement. I have no idea who this clown is, but I hate that headline.
-
The quote was more like "it's like genocide. I have no idea what genocide is like but it was totally like that"
I have no idea who this clown is, but I hate that headline.
Not the star of a new "teen Dexter" spinoff as I first thought, he apparently will be playing Lex Luthor
-
Just sayin' "Comic-Con is absolutely nothing like genocide" meets that requirement.
I agree with the general sentiment. Saying "compares" when you should say "likens" is like "could care less" to me. But as @Jaloopa points out, he was likening the two. I presume he was going for funny hyperbole. One out of two would be great if this were baseball.
-
he apparently will be playing Lex Luthor
Ah, carry on then. This just means he really liked it.
-
Just in case you don't actually know, the shoulder thing that goes up is actually this, which appears NOT to have a barrel shroud.
Well, of course it doesn't have a barrel shroud: you probably aren't at risk of burning anything but your hair on it.
