##WTF Japan!?

Found this example of what is possibly the worst attempt at "science" in a comic book ever:

http://luchins.com/dickery/Thor_JITM_85antimatter_2.jpg
http://luchins.com/dickery/Thor_JITM_85antimatter_3.jpg...actually I bet it doesn't even get in the top 10. Superhero comics are some weird stuff.
-
That's worse than reversing the polarity of the neutron flow
-
It's up there with anything about the Flash. Who can move infinitely fast. He likes saving people at multiples of c.
-
It sounds like it's more "nega-matter" than "anti-matter", if you get what i mean.
-
But do you have any discobreakers?
-
-
Oh look, no onebox, and I don't even want to try to figure out why.
-
Missing protocol?

You know, I'm starting to think you're a terrifyingly well-written spambot.

Dammit, uncovered.
Well, as long as you think I'm terrifying, I guess that's OK.
I do try not to mention it too much. You can't expect me not to bring up Eric when someone mentions bears with religions, not when someone found 'my other forum has a bear' so amusing that I set it as my title. People kept replying, it would have been rude to ignore them.

Does taking the stairs count as work?
In some branches of Judaism: yes. Some of them are only permitted to take a certain number of steps each day.
-
Ahhhh! The eyes: they burn!
-
-
So which is it?
-
Even worse idea: taking your Free Ceramic Urinal® Mug to work.
-

Someone ought to tell them that their hearts are doing work the whole time, pumping blood around the body! See if they really are that idiotic… for Science!

I'm given to understand that sanctity of human life trumps all other laws, in the event of a conflict (e.g. if a Jew is starving and the only food available is pork, they not only may eat it, they have to).
-
Now that's a more sensible law.
-
Bad idea: forgetting to do special effects in your crappy fantasy soap opera.

That would be the Toilet Snorkel, which enables you to survive in a smoke-filled environment by breathing in sewer gas

Apparatus for facilitating the birth of a child by centrifugal force. PDF.
-
I think I'm done. I can't INternet anymore this week after seeing that! It's like a Jim Carrey movie.
-
-
I think "less stress to the mother" might be debatable.

Oh, shit, I thought you were just joking.
We live in an age of wonders!
Indeed.
-
-
-
It's an idea for a "oxygen mask", obviously.
Uses the toilet's water-seal to ensure you only breathe air from the vent (15), which (I suppose?) is cleaner than the air in the house. Maybe the house is on fire and full of smoke.
The real WTF is that the concept would work just as well in a sink as a toilet.

You don't breathe in (much) sewer gas, that's what the vent is for.
-

A sink will probably have a longer drop to the trap, so a toilet might be easier to use.

Not to mention that using a sink would require standing, which would put your head in the smoke. You may be breathing through the tube, but smoke exposure is still not desirable.

I LOVE IT!

-
There are more varieties of waterlocks for the sinks. Not all of them are constructed such that you can run a hose through them. They are simply not designed to let material of 10-15 cm with a diameter of 2-3 cm through.
-
So instead of dying peacefully from smoke inhalation, you get to burn to death while choking on sewer air?
I'd buy that.
-

Virtually all deaths in fires are due to smoke inhalation. It's nasty stuff.
-
I had carbon monoxide poisoning once. Despite being poison, it was a rather pleasant experience and I had no problem sleeping it off. Much preferable to literally being on fire.

Yes, it is; and it can happen to people who are awake. But I'm dubious about chaining myself to a piece of porcelain while there are flames around that could be the secondary cause of my death.
This is a purely desperation move, to be used only when it is impossible to flee.

One of the scariest videos you'll ever see

Is... is that the broken helmet that's being carried away in ambulance?
-
Top row: phone in case, remove case, phone explodes
Bottom row: helmet photoshopped onto kid, kid without helmet photoshopped on, kid turns into vehicle.
-
I did a fire safety course at work and they made us watch the whole thing. Horrific stuff and really demonstrates that when it comes to fire, you don't screw around.
-

Ah, Staplefahrer Klaus.
The epitome of safety videos.
