🙅 THE BAD IDEAS THREAD
-
The bad idea isn't anything to do with practicality.
-
is that supposed to be..... a hearse?
-
-
...... why?
-
Content generation for this thread, obviously.
-
i'd buy that.
hmm... to really sell it a vanity plate would be called for

The bad idea isn't anything to do with practicality.
I still don't understand it. Spell it out simply for me please so I can do a at myself for not getting it.

Maybe he'll decided to impress Jodie Foster again by shooting Obama, or the Pope, or something.
I am still not seeing the downside...

You don't like the current Pope?

I wouldn't be surprised if most modern .308 rifles were really 7.62mm in disguise.
They are the exact same round. 7.62x51mm is .308 Winchester. The two are interchangeable. <pedantic will argue differences in neck angle, but the fact remains that one can shoot the other and vice versa. They are, in all the ways that matter, the same round>

That's how "temporary insanity" works.
So now you are a psychologist, in addition to being a SJW? You have many a splendored specializations.

-
The bad ideas thread is over oh wait
-
Apart from it being butt-ugly (hardly the first cdr car to be like that), what's the Bad Idea expressed in that picture?
Well, you had it mostly right to begin with, but most people are carted to the grave in a luxury car. Cadillac, Lincoln, Mercedes, etc. This is a fucking Toyota.
Not to knock Toyota. They are fine vehicles. But not luxury.

No, but I did finish primary school, so now I know what "temporary" means.

Perhaps your education stopped there and your "bullshit detector" never matured?

FUCK WHY IS THERE NO POOP EMOJI
When you make software this shitty, including a poop emoji is asking for trouble...
-
but for some reason, Jeff renamed it to:hankey:
-
Because...Discoursistency!
-
Since when does Discourse support tags?
-
Hmmmmm, I have some time off coming up. I might see what it would take to make :discourse: display ;)
-
but for some reason, Jeff renamed it to
You are aware of the character Mr. Hankey from South Park, right?
-
-
-
So what's wrong with a hearse competitor?
-
-
Really?
Hmm. Used to be available as poop or shit.
TIL Southpark references are the more civilized option.

Japan man arrested for dumping a quarter-tonne of porn
I'll leave the choice of what's bad about this idea to the reader.

hmmm...... this i think i need to read at home.....

It's actually quite SFW. He was apparently getting rid of it for a sick friend.

On the one hand, it goes against the usual picture of the Japanese as early adopters to think one of them (even a 70-year-old) would still have part of his porn stash on VHS tapes.
On the other, I can't help wondering what rare and collectible stuff might be on some of those tapes. That stash may contain the last surviving copy of <insert title of supposedly "lost" fap-film here>.
-
He was apparently getting rid of it for a sick friend.
That's what I would say also. Or...maybe his friend was sick because the type of person who has 550lbs of pornographic material typically spends too much time wanking to pay attention to things like nutrition...

thass-a-lotta HDDs....
Mother of God. Imagine if, instead of print and videos, it were 4TB hard drives. That would be...centuries worth of porn.
-
Literally laughing out loud here.....
and that was the idea....
of course you could get better data density using micro SD cards. i think they make 256GB ones and you can fit a lotta those in the weight of a 4TB spinner (and you only need about 20 to match capacity of the spinner (assuming a generous loss for filesystem overhead))

I assume you have seen this?

various variations of it over the years....
this is one of my favorites: https://what-if.xkcd.com/31/

I know in your little world it's easy to say "That never happened to me, therefore it never happened to anybody else!" because that makes dealing with life very simple. Everybody who is different to you is inferior, everybody with different experiences is just making stuff up (aka bullshitting), everybody is completely to blame for their own situation and no external factors that you haven't seen first-hand exist. They all have less value than you as a human and deserve no compassion or consideration.
You can then do neat things like dismiss claims of discrimination or label everybody with a mental problem a criminal. Then you can just decide the solution is to lock more people up and maybe kill a few while you're at it. Let God sort them out, right? It's all their fault!
Here in the real world things are far more complicated. People have mental problems that are real, not made up. Sometimes these problems are permanent because their brains are broken for whatever reason. Sometimes these problems are temporary. The law is sophisticated enough to attempt to sort all this out. You, being a simpleton, don't understand any of that and simply call "bullshit".
In short, you're a terrible person and should try to better yourself, have compassion for your fellow humans, and accept that sometimes things don't match any of your previous experiences.

Don't you have some kind of protest march to go to?

Too busy sucking on the teat of government employment.

Too busy sucking on the teat of government employment.
I wasn't aware that was an impediment.

Can't we all just agree on the following facts:
- Killing children is bad.
- Killing people who kill children is good.
- Killing people who kill people who kill children is bad
- Killing people who kill people who kill people who kill children is good
And so on.
Now rather than arguing morality, we can just try to find hidden kill-links in a chain of events and figure out the right judgement.
-
What is killing people who kill both people who kill children and children considered?
-
True Neutral.
-
Wouldn't that be chaotic neutral?
