@Yamikuronue
Perfect for all the programmers in your life! In between fixing the aftermath of yet more spaghetti code, they can enjoy this slightly but not really healthier alternative to the traditional IT food!

The Internet Has Strong Feelings About Spaghetti Donuts
Of course they do: the Internet has a strong opinion about everything.
Personally, I'd give them a try.

@Yamikuronue I get that not everyone approves of the idea, but reactions such as this?
Seriously? Someone makes a food item you don't like the idea of, and you want to commit a federal offence? Priorities much?

@RaceProUK
But what if the inventor was a Nazi?
-
@izzion Then we'd be discussing the Spaghetti Swastika ;)

Yes, should have been in stupid ideas people actually tried.

Spaghetti in the shape of a donut is a dumb idea, but it's not a bad idea. To qualify as a bad idea, it'd need to borrow more from the concept of a donut than simply the shape...
-
@Yamikuronue I'd try one of those.

Deep fried? But that makes almost everything better!
-
@dcon That sounds like a tasty bad idea...
But no, I was thinking more along the lines of this...

SOMEONE will modify this to be unbreakable without actually beating the high score and then only hardcore gamers will be able to save the world... Did I just pitch a new Pixar movie?

@Maciejasjmj I'd watch that.

@coldandtired
[trains]The thing that got me from the article was this:
On Monday, what would have been Thompsonβs birthday, the Navasota community gathered at the site of the accident, leaving balloons, candles and flowers in her memory.
I hope not exactly at the site of the accident, but that's definitely how I visualised it. Followed immediately by a new rash of "accidents".

@PleegWat It'd be trespass in the UK too IIRC, but that's generally a civil thing and not an actual crime. Normally the possibility of being hit by a train puts people off.
In Sri Lanka, there is a place that the railroad bridge is the pedestrian bridge. I do not mean it is a bridge with a sidewalk next to the railroad tracks. I mean that when I crossed, I listened for the train, and prepared myself to jump in the water if necessary.

Railways appear to be a special case and subject to criminal penalties. Clearly death-by-train isn't enough

how loud a noise he could make.
Kohler explained the power supplies inside the megaphones likely were not strong enough to amplify sound much more than a single megaphone.
No shit!

Fucking gifv. For reasons, I have to use FF39 occasionally (not as bad as Lorne's favourite, but still quite old). So for all the pictures that don't make sense I have to check whether it's actually a gif.

@loopback0 New Zealand once had Raspberry Coke, which was somehow the worst tasting thing ever. Which makes no sense, as I definitely like both of the flavors that go into it, and they don't seem like ones that would go badly together.
-
@Magus There is (was? Haven't seen it in ages) also this weird thing called Cherry Coke which to me tasted like Coke mixed with marzipan.
-
@Rhywden I like Cherry Coke: doesn't taste like marzipan to me
-
@Rhywden Never stopped being a thing here, and it's great. And I'm a much bigger fan of raspberry than cherry normally.
-
Okay, I award you two people the official: "We killed off our tastebuds and it's going great!"-Award :)
-
@Magus still availabe in Germany
-
@Rhywden yes, strange somewhat almondish stuff (though I quite like it),
still available in the UK.@Magus said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:

What I really want to refind was some raspberry 'beer' that one of the micro-brewery pubs in Manchester was serving many years ago. Was marketed as frambosine, perhaps Β± some spelling discrepancies. I encountered it toward the end of long pub crawl (so unfortunately don't know where I was ). It was an order of magnitude better than any of the raspberry beers that I've tried since (which are nasty).
-
@japonicus I know Timmermans does some nice fruity beers: could have been one of theirs
