I'm never going to get kissed at this rate...
Depends how much booze you buy me ;)
-
@Yamikuronue is it good for teenagers? The description seems to match the books my niece likes to read
-
@fbmac Depends how old and what she likes. My books are New Adult, so they're set in college rather than high school, and they do have sexy bits (not erotica-explicit, but sex happens and it's clear that's what's going on).

None of this "Buck and (what's her face) took a walk through the forest" stuff, right? :P

@Tsaukpaetra I mean, there's a bit with sex in the forest, if that's what you're after ^^

sex in the forest,
bospoeper!
(Flemish way of saying you are shagging in the woods, not Dutch, Dutch people will think you are taking a shit in the woods)

Going home early on a Friday to, among other things, spend some time with my best friend I haven't seen in like a month or more.
What? It's the little things, ok?

The repair bill on my car is less than the value of the car, so it's worth doing it and selling the car
-
@Jaloopa said in ๐The cupcake thread of celebrations.:
so it's worth doing it and selling the car
Are you really famous, so that the car would be worth more after the doing it? :o
-
Getting the car repaired and selling it will leave me with more money than I currently have. If the repairs were more than the value of the car, I'd have been better off taking ยฃ75 for scrap

doubt it, the way i read it is:
"the car's worth jack shit right now what with the repair needing to be done, but if i do the repair and then sell it i'll get the money back on the repair and the leftover profit will be more than i could sell the car for as-is"
-
@Jaloopa
Well yes, but being true to the actual meaning of what you wrote making a cheap with the out of context end of your quote. :P

@izzion Oh, it was a

@ben_lubar what about dihydrogen monoxide?

It's OK, he buys the organic version in little bottles.
-
@Mikael_Svahnberg said in ๐The cupcake thread of celebrations.:
@ben_lubar what about dihydrogen monoxide?
Nope, there are no chemicals in my kitchen.
I wasn't able to find any chemical-free ingredients, so there's no food in there either.
Also, my kitchen contains no air because air is a bunch of chemicals.
I am very hungry and I can't breathe.
-
@ben_lubar the question you have to ask yourself is:
What would Arthur Dent do?
-
@ben_lubar said in ๐The cupcake thread of celebrations.:

So you are in the kitchen?
So much for chemical-free.
I recommend chewing off your own leg to escape.

I can't go in the kitchen, but there's no door either, so I had to remove the air from my entire house.
-
@ben_lubar Whatever you do, don't open your windows.
Last thing your neighborhood needs is contamination with hard vacuum.

By the way, it's @mark_bowytz's birthday today.

so is your chair, so is your car, your dog, and your kitchen.

I have a disgusting scaly, hairy arm covered in flaking off skin and three horrible scabby holes, and my wrist is as stiff as if I hadn't moved it for two months, but I no longer have a broken arm, wires sticking our of my flesh, or a cast.

My wife went into pre-term labor on Monday, 27-Feb-2017 (~5 weeks early), so we went to the hospital. There, her placenta abrupted (came loose from the uterus, causing massive hemorrhaging), which, combined with the baby being breach, led to an immediate C-section.
Why is a premature birth cause for celebration? Well, firstly, obviously, there's the new baby boy.
Secondly, though, the baby's umbilical cord had a "true knot". Cord knots are not uncommon, but are generally loose, because of the coating on the outside of the cord. A true knot has pulled tight, restricting the blood flow to the infant. If our little boy had stayed inside much longer, he likely either would not have lived or would have had brain damage or other major health issues due to malnutrition.
As it is, though, he is doing very exceptionally well, and was able to come home after less than two weeks in the NICU. Mom is also at home, still recovering from the C-section, but she is also doing very well.

@djls45 That's quite the sequence of events. Glad to know it's all worked out well

Congrats on your new family member and take of your wife.
