I like how stupid bra-fox is, it's endearing.
-
Pfft. They stole that from ESO.
Yep. They stole that from ESO 2 years before ESO was released.
Edit: Goddamnit, I need to start reading to the end before I post. Now I look like I agree with @Fox.
-
Wow. I guess Guild Wars 2 just drains the IQ away, right down the drain.
-
Were the ATM machines automated?
The automated ATM machines?
Of course. They are better than tellers. They are like automated teller machines.

The problem isn't that his choices were old, it was that they were ugly planes. And it's hard to make a fighter look ugly, it takes work.
The worst part is that British aviation is CLEARLY capable of making beautiful planes.Take, for instance, the Vulcan.
(fuck the more modern liveries. Too busy. Flash white forever.)
HOW DO YOU MAKE A FUCKING STRATEGIC BOMBER INTO ART?And Concorde (although I guess the styling could be French).
But like the British auto industry (which managed to produce exactly one truly beautiful car - the E-type Jag, and then quit trying), they just fucking refused to. I'll bet they managed to produce only one or two truly beautiful women, too.
-
I literally can't tell.
If it's Ace Combat it's a pretty realistic version of this plane.

The Vulcan is also hideous. Note that the B1 and Tu-160 also aren't exactly attractive planes.
Concorde's ok though. Only with its nose up.
-
Do you know how many fucking GIS results I had to scroll by before I found a picture of the Concorde from a good angle with the nose up?
Apparently that photo was the last time anyone bothered to take one. In the 70's or whatever.
And you know what? I think you're right about the Vulcan. It's beautiful. Until you actually really look at it and the crunchy parts become evident. Like, what the fuck is going on with the leading edge of the wing? And the bubbled cockpit? It looks like it has broken arms and face cancer. Same problem with allegedly-beautiful British cars.

Britain produced something beautiful with the E-Type Jaguar and Keira Knightley and that was it.
-
-
Keira Knightley
We made two of those.
edit: Nevermind, Natalie Portman isn't English. TIL.
-
Natalie Portman is Jewish.
But they both have the sexiest necks alive.
-
-
So one plane (and they have to share credit with France for it), one car, and one woman.
Hail Brittania!
-
-
Pfffffbt. You are gay. You can't judge a female neck.
You wouldn't even know which ones are the best to strangle. Deviant.
-
and Keira Knightley and that was it.
They totally 'shopped her boobs in that King Arthur movie poster.

Ask me if I give a shit.

Do you give a shit that they totally 'shopped her boobs in that King Arthur movie poster?
-
No. No I do not.
-
While we're looking at pretty planes:
The XB70 is probably the prettiest strategic bomber. Crisp lines, not much in the way of awkwardness.
Too bad all the good pictures except these two suffer from Concorde Droopy Nose Syndrome (except the wingtips are the droopy bit).
Well, except for this picture:
Which suffers from "GOD DAMMIT YOU HAD EXACTLY ONE JOB!" syndrome.

I love it when people click my "Filed under" links, as if they actually go anywhere!
Filed under: Actually, it's a kind of game, about 0.014% of them have a real, actual link somewhere, you just have to find them!

So how's the new forums coming?

But would you facefuck her husband's corpse while winking at her?

ZOMG!
Awe crap I must be behind on things, I only recognized 23% of those clips....Status: Finally gave up on an emergency OS update and reverted to six months old backup because F**k Samba connecting to Active Directory.

but then makes their workers pay for the food there.
Generally not allowed here (Belgium, Netherlands, France) for tax reasons and equality, e.g. it's not fair to works on the go or those who don't have cafeteria at their site. It mostly is cheap to very cheap.

-
Isn't that what the "FireFox ideas thread" is for?
-
F**k Samba
FTFY
And I mean on any OS. Because Samba share management is an exercise in frustration and cargo culting on all of them. IT'S 2015 WE HAVE "THE CLOUD " THAT ACTUALLY WORKS, WHY CAN'T I JUST COPY SHIT OVER TO A COMPUTER 2 METERS OVER TO THE LEFT?

WHY CAN'T I JUST COPY SHIT OVER TO A COMPUTER 2 METERS OVER TO THE LEFT?
It worked with Win95 ... you didn't even needed the password of the other pc.
-
-
Really?
I'm an idiot then and just don't know how to set it up properly. Because I never, ever had it just freaking work on the first go. There was always at the very least one stupid problem which made no damned sense!
-
I have eyeballs.
The worst part is that British aviation is CLEARLY capable of making beautiful planes.
Pshaw, philistines ;)
I totally agree about the Vulcan through, I live where XH558 was based for 2 years of its flying. Seeing that fly over is breathtaking, that massive delta shape from below is very special.
-
Really?
I've not had issues with it for like years. Even plays nicely with OSX (as the client, not tried it the other way around).
Maybe it's because it's within a domain environment. *shrug*

Status: Everyone posting pictures of planes. I don't know shit about planes. Ben is posting screenshots from GW. I don't know shit about GW.
Considering posting screenshots of ships from EVE Online - it's kinda the middle ground and bound to annoy everyone...

Actual status: UAT. This part of the application shows a huge list of contacts in a bog-standard paginated HTML table, has click2call functionality, and a column that shows date, time and status of the last call to that contact (pulled automatically from actual call records), if any.
A user calls me over:
> Hey, I have a question.
> Yes?
> I called this contact.
> Yes, I can see that. 2 minutes ago, didn't pick up since the icon is red.
> Why is this not on the first page?
> ... sorry?
> points at the numbers showing the current page I'm on page X
> ... yes?
> Why didn't it take me to first page after I edited the contact?
> ... so you know where you left off? If it took you to the first page after every change you'd have to navigate to page X manually again?
> But I called this contact! It should be on the first page!
> Well... you could sort by last call date if you click on the header here, it's currently sorted by last name...
> Why is it sorted by last name?
> That's the default. It has to be sorted by something, we picked last name because it's always present and rarely changes, if ever at the time you're using the application
> IT SHOULD BE ON THE FIRST PAGE!
> Ok, I can make it sort by last call date by default, it's going to be weird for contacts you haven't called...
> IT SHOULD BE ON THE FIRST PAGE!
> And you want the application to take you there after you edit any info?
> It should take me where I left off!
> But... you won't see that contact if I move it to first page, then. Also, it's going to shift everything over by one position every time you make a call so the page numbers will stop making sense soon...
> IT SHOULD BE ON THE FIRST PAGE!Fuck it, I'm deferring this to my boss...

STATUS Confused!
This piece of code involves catching class cast exceptions and if that doesn't work try another in the catch and so on for about several hundred lines. Try with an int, then a String, then arraylists, then linkedlists, then an arraydeque, then an array and then recursion to do something with the integer or string in the only item in said data structure.
I've found this in four places so far and I'm sure as shit that the outsourced people aren't paid by the line.
-
outsourcing businesses here are more interested if you can talk the english than if you can code the code
-
sales drone sold something that we dont even know how exactly it should work as an already existing product
boss wants a poc at the end of week
-

How did they even get a business case together without full requirements, it might not be commercially viable.
-
its a smallish feature, but we barely know its technically viable and there is a lot of different ways to implement with different and important trafeoffs
now well have to rush to the quickest way to implement some shitty version of it

Rest assured that whatever crap you slap together will exist in production in perpetuity. Happy coding!

Status: We have a data centre change in 2 weeks which involves an outage across some of the network. There's a long call where we're supposed to confirm if our services are impacted or not, and no-one's sent out the list of impacted servers but the calls going ahead anyway.
