What if there's no parent, as in the student is out living on his own with no parental support?

Yeah, who is it going to email? The guys who have the ability to re-run the job if it fails? Because that's supposedly the same people that are supposed to be "monitoring" it...

I guess in that case, no parent information is required on the form, so no parent signature is required. I guess. The form changes based on previous input. I've never been in that situation, so I don't know how it changes in that case.

Yes, this. I did it on accident once and was like, "wait, why it no interrogate my parent's financial status?"

Yes. Because that way they'll know as soon as it fails. If you expect them to actually monitor it, well, good luck.

I don't expect them to monitor it. They just do. Well, once they know about it. We have a whole "Process Monitor" application (coded in hacked-together C#) they use for this purpose.

In an abstract sens, yes !
abstract as in an abstract interface, i.e. abstract class with all virtual functions, i.e. not really and not concretely

I know people who were in that situation and it demanded parental information anyway. And held it against them because said parents were fairly wealthy but had disowned the kid entirely.

FAFSA is super easy then. You skip the entire section for parents.

So am I, but @Maciejasjmj was replying to @Fox (who is male AFAIK), not @Yamikuronue.
-
@OffByOne I am, yes, but I'm not the one who first said "future love life", so both of you are partly right!

@OffByOne Which is why you're both partly right.

Why only partly? We're both completely right.
@Tsaukpaetra is right in his assertion that @Yamikuronue is not a "He".
I'm right in my usage of the pronoun "He" in the context I used it in.
-
@OffByOne Because that's not @Tsaukpaetra's only assertion and your usage of the pronoun "he" was vague in that it could also have been referring to @Yamikuronue, in which case it would be the wrong pronoun.

I left the (collapsed by NodeBB) quote trail there for a reason.

Status: Day is pretty much over for me. I'm wiped out, my boss already took off for the night and the only reason I haven't yet is the junior dev hasn't left (and I have to lock up after him).

@Tsaukpaetra As opposed to a graphics card issue?
-
@FrostCat said in The Official Status Thread:
@Tsaukpaetra As opposed to a graphics card issue?
Yes. Because if it's a "card" issue, that means the motherboard gets replaced, because it's integrated graphics and a wasted Windows license.
-
@Tsaukpaetra
Because the motherboard doesn't have a PCI-e slot of any sort on it? Even a really basic PCI-e x1 video card would be a similar level of oomph to integrated graphics... Much less a standard PCI-e x16 video card.

-
Hm. Well, I know that most simple video cards come with half-height brackets, and at least in times past I've ordered standard PCI video adapters. But I've been out of the low-end computer market for quite a while, so YMMV, etc.
On the bright side, a PCI low-end video adapter isn't really "money", it's only like $30-50 :P

@Lorne-Kates, or one of the other various paginators that has a GitHub account, maybe you should (professionally, not WTDWTFinally) comment on this issue: https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB/issues/4604 - looks like there was some visibility by a Node dev, but the original submitter never followed up to help them get a replication case and fix the issue...

What? Pay retail price, you can move the license to a different computer. Pay the discounted OEM builder price, you can't. It's an economic tradeoff.
I bought an OEM Win 10 license for my Skull Canyon, because I don't intend to reuse it, because I expect the computer to be good for a long time. OTOH for my desktops I actually bought retail Windows 8 licenses, so they're technically reusable.
-
Also, based on the assumption that the reply / quote / upvotes UI here is a custom skin, much thanks to whoever implemented it. If this is the old Node default and they're experimenting with a potential future new default on their forum, can we please blacklist that update!

- Double-click a word in the middle of a sentence, such as "for" above
- The space also gets selected (or just select a word plus a space, just that #2 is a common use case)
- In any case, note that you've selected 4 characters (including one space)
- Click del/ins shortcut
- The
<del></del>
goes around the characters you have highlighted-- except for the space. I assume there's a .trim() in there somewhere. There are 3 characters between the<del>
tags. - The cursor now moves to be inside the
<ins></ins>
tags. - Except instead of moving the length of the
<ins>
plus the length of the<del></del>
inner text-- it moves the length of<ins>
plus the length of the highlighted text - Result, the cursor ends up one character into the
<ins>
closing tag. IE:<ins><|/ins>
.
How's THAT for a bug report, motherfuckers?

Latest Jason Bourne movie. Contains computer hacking.
Use SQL to corrupt their database
(inb4 lol SQL is trwtf mongodb etc)
Next scene, someone runs a predictive algorithm. By typing
run predictive algorithm
.Uhh-- if it's such a great predictive algorithm, shouldn't it have autocompleted when you started typing?!?

Jason Bourne
The CIA can detect someone is hacking them. But they have to manually type all counter-measures. IDS, wats that?
fake edit nevermind, the HACKER has an IDS, which detects a trace and disconnects.
If that's the case, CIA, guys-- I think I know why you're getting bested on the cyberhacking thing.
