@loopback0 For sour beers, I think you mean .
-
@remi No because | don't live in

@loopback0 Neither do I (or do |?) but I wouldn't want to drink sour beer that's not from the Right Part of B******.
(ah, the look on the face of friends when you give them a Cantillon to taste for the first time... priceless!)
-
@remi
Or a Kwak and they spill half of it trying to drink
-
@Luhmann Oh yes, that just happened a couple of days ago. He first got a glass full of foam when pouring it, and then spilt some while drinking (although I have to say that the shape of the glass apparently allowed him to actually get some beer below all the foam).

It's not cheap to get it here in the UK, which makes wasting it even worse!

It's cheaper than a lot of import beers if ordered online. Just way rarer in pubs which puts the price up.
-
Cheapest place I've found is Amazon, which works out at nearly £4 per bottle. Not bad if it was in a pub, but pretty poor price for drinking at home.

Depends how much you want to buy.
€2.05/bottle + €10 delivery on beerofbelgium.com. 6 bottles that's about £3.30/bottle, 12 it's £2.40.
The €10 covers up to 40 bottles so you can get a fair amount - or a fair range.edit: fixed domain

@TimeBandit
Just ship it in by the 40-pack and resell it to all your friends, then shipping is only 1.25 fake magic dollars per bottle.

Canadian delivery is expensive, with those snowmobile, sled dogs, and all

@TimeBandit
Maybe bribe the sled dog operators with a bottle or two?

@DoctorJones I've just spotted they have Westvleteren currently... it's orderin' time!

At least it's an interesting idea.
Meanwhile:
Nice.

Yep, but without having to open a new browser window.
This may or may not be something you want.

part of the catch ... beer isn't cheap to ship due to it's weight and it has to be packed properly to prevent braking.

€10 is cheap enough.
-
@Luhmann
If you don't drink and drive, you don't have to worry about unintentional braking while interacting with your beer.

I did a quick comparison: La Chouffe (random beer on the first page) blond on @loopback0 's site: €2,15
From Carrefour (a mid-price supermarket): €1,35

Westvleteren
I've been thinking of going to 'In de vrede' the café across the abbey and the only official place to sell the beer directly.
-
@Luhmann AFAIR, they only sell small 6-packs of bottles at the shop and you're limited to 2 or 3 packs per customer (of course, you can always come back later). If you want a bit more, you have to call the abbey itself and go there, and you can get a few 24-bottles crates.
I should go back there some day... :sigh:

More than 10€ for one bottle? My god, I love that beer, but that's extortion!
-
The price is a bit steep, and the bumpf is overflowing with hipster marketing nonsense, but this does look like a genuinely good product:

@RaceProUK
Meh, the retro design is interesting but the layout will be a mindfuck: all the rows of keys are spread out differently to where they usually are. For example, pressing 1 means you have to press the key above A rather than to the left above of it.If you really want to relearn typing, do it on a split keyboard where you can have right-angled keys for the left hand, left-angled keys for the right hand.

@Tsaukpaetra
Don't be insulting!I was talking about the fact that on a normal Qwerty keyboard the A is never aligned with the 1 or vice versa.
If you care: I use Colemak, where the A and Q are still in the same spot.
