IOW, gaming on Linux is nice
If done on a handheld device with a really vibrant display, yes. Apparently the portability factor matters a lot more than I'd thought (even if I mostly play in bed).

Me watching the TC39 proposals page:
There are some proposals in stage 2 & 3 that would be transformative in the way I write code, but they've languished for years with no activity.

How uninspired of you.
I have a camping trip planned next week. I'm wondering if playing videogames in the woods really defeats the purpose of camping.

Could my prayers have been answered? Our daily hour-long five minute standup has been removed from my calendar.

Some of my fondest camping memories are of walking up to the campground store and playing arcade games.
(Yes, there was hiking and swimming and cooking things on a stick over the fire too. :)

Status: Oh no.
You wot mate? Having extra power supplies is "out of question"?
Logistics is still burning down I see...

Even I have to concede this has gotten to the stage where it's a better experience than windows. Once you get past the fiddling with contrary games bit. For steam and other heroic stuff it really does work out of the box most of the time and protondb usually has the fix you need.

I would like to play in bed, but the lack of play partner takes a lot of potential fun away.

Interpreting the Indlish, he indicates that the power supplies were not put back where they are supposed to be, and haven't given any out with new PCs (i.e. they mysteriously disappeared but don't want to say the word "lost").
-
@Tsaukpaetra They need the word "mislaid". Or maybe "sold off for cheap", but that might be a mite more embarrassing.

Status: I think my HR gal is checked out of her job. I submitted the expense reports on time like a good doggo 3 weeks ago. The not-a-credit-card thing is due today and it looks like there's no hint of it being paid (not to mention the remittance on stuff I paid on my personal card).
Granted it's like 50 items to review (in batches of 15), but it's not like I was doing weird shit so why isn't it approved or rejected-with-comment?
Status: The expense reports were finally approved!
Too bad they were fucking late and (naturally) a late fee was assessed, which, AcCoRdInG tO pOlIcY....
(snipped by the expense approver folks)I have responded thusly.
Anyways...
Anyone hiring a stand-up guy able and willing to be a nice little fuckboy? Or should I stay another year and see if history repeats itself?

@Tsaukpaetra Next time, small claims court to recover the costs due to their incompetence (plus the costs associated with the case itself). Sometimes, nothing short of having bailiffs turn up will teach a large company to pay their bills on time.

I don't got time for that, but excellent idea!

I've been ignoring Firefox's requests for months. I don't remember what changed in the update, but I remember it was a change for the worse (), and I have avoided it so far.

I'm wondering if I'd struggle less with a melee build instead of full-on mage. Respeccing seems like effort though.

Welcome back, @Lorne-Kates!
My version of Firefox isn't that old, only 3 or 4 months, maybe. to go into the other room to check the version number on my computer, and the version on my phone is up to date, because I don't get a choice on the phone.

Status: Got an email today from the Libre Office bug system. My bug is 18 years old!
This fall it'll be heading off to Open Source University.

It's amazing that it's been kept open for so long. Most large projects auto-close bugs regularly.

@HardwareGeek Three or four months? Isn't that like a Brazilian versions behind?

Every year or three their bug system sends out an email asking if it still happens in the current version. Ask a stupid question...

Google and Mozilla releasing a new version every 53 minutes has made version numbers pretty much meaningless.

@Gern_Blaanston Only 9 major and 13 patch releases since 7 August. They don't make release notes for previous major releases easy to find, though.
